Q:

DROZD BB Machine Gun

Hi all,

Has anyone heard of the DROZD BB gun? I wanted to know if anyone had any interest in them as I have two of them and am looking for other enthusiasts.

Thanks!

Yep, got a Blackbird, 400 rounds, running on HPA, custom heat treated machine gun barrel and barrel vent, rechargeable Li Ion batteries, M4 butt stock, Mod chip for select fire and 1200 RPM , single point sling, remote tank, belt and hose, so no tank on the gun, just a 4500psi tank regulated down.and just a lot of other cool mods, can’t remember all what I did to it as I have not “played” with it for a while. They sure are fun though:)

hello this is my first post but been here a while. As for the drozd you can get hi cap mags from Drozdmax.com but you will need to replace the electronic motherboard to power it, they r fantastic on HPA to find out more goto( bb machine gun owners forum ) a lot of knowledgable people on there and all willing to help 😉

I had one of the Drozds awhile ago, they are fun for a while but you end up going through a LOT of bb’s.

I just checked the site I got mine from and it looks like the new Drozd Blackbird holds over 900 bb’s! With one of the modchips you can empty that in under a minute.

400 shot mags are not available for the Drozd but are part of the newer Blackbird version

The N batteries just increase from 12 to 15 volts helps keep the Caps charged on full auto.

Have not seen a factory hicap mag for the Drozd only custom converted 6mm Airsoft mags.

I didn’t even realize that they made 400 rd magazines for the Drozd! I thought about the hpa conversion but I didn’t like the thought of carrying around a tank. I just bought a few extra mags. I did convert one of my mags to use a quick coupler for an external co2 tank but never tried it out.
I haven’t tried the “N” battery thing. I heard it increases the rpm? Do you have to do anything else besides just dropping in the batteries?

Get real heavy, uses even more batteries and air. If using CO2 it will just freeze up and the BBs will just roll out the barrel. 😕

Randy

Roach…you are spoiled
what submachinegun has a 400 round magazine?

I don’t care for the hopper guns because they just look pain ugly and are even uglier converted to HPA 😆

Why do you guys not use the 400 rd magazines?

About 3 or 4 years ago I had a Yellow one and I hated the co2 cartridges, some fit and some did not, the other thing I did not like was loading that magazine every couple of minutes with BB’s, and yes I had the bb loader.

Now that I make my own air, it has been tempting to buy one with all the bells and whistles, well chips boards, coiled hoses and 400 round magazine.

I have heard that some security people use them in California.

So why no 400 round mags there?

Roachcreek

Thanks chopped off one of the stock extensions epoxied it to an AR stock really worked great.

Randyhub, nice! I dyed mine too and also have Jim C barrels. You’re spot on about the fun factor and stress relief! I just wish they had a high capacity magazine. I like your buttstock conversion. Is that an AR15 type stock? How dod you adapt it to the back of th Drozd?

Had mine now for 6 years, dyed it black, installed a Jim C long barrel, Cooper C bulk adapter, using a 1200 psi HPA tank, N cells, full auto chip, it spits BBs out at a stupid speed.

More fun then anything else but is a strees killer and is just so much fun to shoot. 😎

15m 1200 rpm burst:

double post sorry

Good luck, no domestic importer of the Tyrex, don’t think there will be either due to it sharing much of the Kedr SMgs parts
for example the frame is the Firearm stamping with different front and rear trunions fusion welded in place as well as firing valve assembly

A handful were recently brought in direct from the Russian republics, likely less than 10 or 15 in the USA total. You can do a search on the Yellow classifieds for “Tyrex”…who knows he may bring in another small batch
cost was $395 for the Russian market vervsion vwhich differs from the EU and UK versions as the Russian market Tyrex has the folding Kedr stock and is fully select fire
also the EU/UK Tyrex runs over $500.00
Here is a couple shots of the Kedr PP91, you can see for yourself how closely ZMZ mimiced their SMg with the Tyrex

the action of the Tyrex just facinates me
with the Paris LDC it sounds about like a vintage Ingram M11 380 with the Sionacs moderator, bucks in the hand about the same as well

Riverside,
That thing is badass! I have to have one! Can you give me information on where you got yours?
