Q:

another direct flow issue to ponder…

since it has yet to be addressed in my post, ill make it a thread. if the valve spring cuts off air flow at full compression in a hi flow, do the powers that be think that it may aid efficiency due to a momentary pressure differential between the ID and OD of the return spring pushing the stem up faster, shortening lock time? if this is the case, tagdagger valves and the new direct flo may have efficiency or valve dump issues if not tuned and treated properly. i look forward to any input or anything i may be forgetting…

550 for 20 shots? it certainly does…maybe i was subconsciously lookin for a reason to leave my gun alone for once… 😆 so much for that…

I have been shooting my Condor with the cast bullets with the Condor hammer, weight and spring, with Tags spring and retainer and Randy’s RLairguns valve stem.

I have also used the valve stem with a much heavier spring and in both set up have not experienced valve dump.

A side note is that I also suspect my Condor spring may be a little tired as it is over two years old and had had thousands upon thousands of shots thru it.

I have the retaining nut screwed in as far as it will go. I have also had the top hat, a stock AF top hat, set out at various distances.

The top level of FPE experienced so far has been 121 FPE with 52 grain cast 25 acp bullets, I used the heavier spring on this, which was a Airarcher modified spring, modified to fit over the PW lip and cut to 3.5 inches.

With a the stock Condor hammer and weight and spring, I am getting 100 FPE and so far my best accuracy, it also has the advantage of being able to turn the PW from being maxed out down to level 8 or so and shoot Kings accurately at the 1000 FPS level.

A recent string which averaged 95 FPE but ran as high as 103 FPE, used 550 PSI for 20 shots.

So sum it up, the valve spring and retainer from Tagdagger and the RLairguns valvestem, have been the constant in my experiements with the 25 acp cast bullet, and no valve dump has been experienced.

Hope this helps.

please do… 😎

I’ll have TagDagger’s AirArcher Spring and Retaining Nut, mated with Randy’s R&L Extreme Valve on a .25 caliber Condor with Tony’s 95 gram Hammer, setup in a few days and I’ll be shooting Jerry’s 6-Ring Slugs for high end FPE test.

I’ll let you know if that dumps a tank.
