Q:

Pump only works when I pump fast.

I got it used with my SS, the pump doesn’t work when I pump slow 🙄 , but pump fast it works great. I’m a little worried about the heat it produces. About how hot should I let it get? I never let it get more hot then I can touch, which happens after a very quick minute of pumping. I know what half the responses will be already, “Buy a hill pump”. Well I will when i have the extra $$$, being new to PCP’s I just put alot down for my initial investment, and I wish to have Tony work his magic on my rifle before I get a new pump. If any one has any tricks to these pumps PLEASE let me know ❓

i would call pyramid air, and air guns of arizona, one of the two should have a kit for it.

Thank you powderburner!! I was told its the axor, but when I see the newer green ones I was kinda skeptical.

you seem to have the axsor pump

bottom of page is rebuild kits. i think the fx and the axsor pumps are the same. give them a call and find out

So the pump works, just not when I pump slow. If any one could help me out in finding out the brand name of my pump that would be greatly appreciated, then I can rebuild. If that were to fail then I will buy the HILL.

sorry to tell ya, but at this point your best option is to throw it away, theres no easy or cost effective solution, if it malfunctions and isnt a hill, its GARBAGE.

Thanks that was quick. I was told it’s an axsor but, it’s black instead of green on the tube (could be an old axsor??). After it gets passed 50 bar on the gauge is when I hear air hissing when I pump slow . After 50 bar I’ve figured out if I pump faster it fills the tank. Ive filled the tank up twice already up to 190 bar only pumping for less then 1 minute at a time ( took over an hour each time). It’s a matter of air not making it into the tank when pumping slow. If i pump fast it works, but get HOT quick. I ALWAYS let it cool down after getting slightly hotter then warm.

Here’s the link to whom I bought it from, maybe some one can identify it for me. scroll down a little for a big picture of the pump.

what do you mean doesn’t work? like you hear air leaking out somewhere or the handle won’t depress…It could have been repeatedly overheated before you got it…it should not get hot much at all…the rings inside really don’t want to get hot…What brand is it?? It might need a rebuild, if its worth it, otherwise you HAVE to get your air situation under control BEFORE you spend any $$$ on upgrading your rifle…and YES if you are going to pump, you need a Hill, AND you need to take it slow…there is a direct negative effect on pump heat and longevity…
