Standard Valve vs. Hi/Flo Valve?
How can you tell the difference between a Standard valve and a Hi-Flo Valve?
Can you improve the velocity of a Std. valve with a heavier hammer?
How Heavy is too Heavy when it comes to Hammer Weight?

just look at the bore of the valve
hi flow mucho gicantee compared to a standard one
you should do a search here on the TAG bout tuning a Talon valve
I did one of mine, basically disassemble port and polish
I chucked up my stem very gingerly and used some way fine grit wet
dry sandpaper you know the black stuff
You can get that shit up to 2000 grit at the local hardware store
when I say local, not Home Depotmom and pop style
I drilled my vave out a bit, forgot what size, polished
whatnot; and ended up with like, jeez, 20%mas power???

tony among others has slightly heavier hammers, and if youre comfy with it, a port/polish of the valve pieces could do it as well…theres a tutorial in the QR section. if you go either(or both)ways, you also may want to consider pissing with a higher fill pressure as well(within reason). the TSS has a standard valve, and the stem walls(looking down into it) are a couple mm thick, where on a hi-flow you will wonder how it dont collapse…
I have a TSS… Did they come with Standard valves or hi Flo Valves? Can you look at one and tell the difference? I saw ParisD’s has these nice Hammers for $35 but they weigh in at a whopping 128 grams.. I would like to get more Pop with my ,25 barrel but I don’t want to mess things up either. seems kind of heavy. what do you guys think? 😕
i personally wouldnt go any heavier than 100g with a stock spring, or maybe 110 at most, and the hi flow stem has characteristically thin walls, a talon valve is visibly robust enough to take the hit.
Well I have a an custom 85 gram hammer and a custom 3 port valve that ls a direct replace the condor stem and a valve compleatly modded from boronh hole to spring
And I can fling 31 grain kodiacks 1176 on a 2300 fill or close to that. Yes I know its to fast for groups. So I’d say for. 25 and lower 85 works but a lot of people put 95s in. So yes a heaver hammer will give u more air for power. As long as your spring isn’t tired. To tell the difference u need to measure. The the holes

You compare a standard Talon valve with a Condor valve, and the opening permitting air to leave the valve is huge in a Condor valve. The Talon valve opening is tiny by comparison.
Take a look at a Condor valve and compare it to your Talon valve.
