Got to shoot my buddy’s 22 AirArms 410s and it is sweet!
I finally got to shoot my buddy’s AirArms 410s.
It is a work of art and the engineering is first rate too. My impression is that they did everything right – the way it should be done – and it is dead accurate, very quiet, and confortable/light to carry and shoulder. I really like the continuously variable power knob which allows you to dial from a high of 950 fps down to 400 fps (or so – I don’t remember the exact velocities, but they were close to these numbers).
I got serious lust for one now and I wouldn’t hesitate to buy one if I got the chance to do so.
I was only able to shoot out to 25 yards, but he told me it gives groups even out to much longer distances. I hope I get to shoot it again, but at 50 and 100 yards.
If they made a 25 caliber version, I would be interested in testing it out for my buddy’s new coyote/squirrel gun (discussed in another thread under Hunting). Current leaders are the Daystate Air Ranger and the FX Royal 500 and my backup plan is the 25 Marauder tuned up to full power.

The 25 cal (not personal experience) is not supposed to be on the air arms platform. Im guessing 30, 35 ft lbs in 25, and air arms arent known for great air usage, compared to fx so I would go with 22, or a 25 fx 500 and some of the other guns
According to some, it handles and points like a traditional rifle as the air tubes are aluminum… It’s just a little ugly. (BTW: some of the newish poplar stocks on the 510’s have cracked in the wrist area so beware.)
For a few dollars more you can get a Daystate…
Oh cool! Does anyone on the forum have the twin tube model? I’m wondering about the weight and balance with the extra hardware… It would be cool to get it all – side lever, repeater, high power, accuracy, silence, high air capacity, and 25 caliber…

The Newer S510’s are available in .25, this includes the “Twin Tube” model.
Yes those are the downfalls of that Carbine, but it is lighter and shorter than the rifle.
I really like the the sidelever and in the long run may determine if my next 25 is a Air Ranger or a Royale.

That is beautiful! That is the model Steve recommended I get, but it has fewer shots (smaller air tube), (sounds like) lower max power, and (maybe) more noise than the non-carbine model. Perhaps the standard length rifle is better match for me.

I have the 22 410 Carbine Classic SLR FAC.
Mine will shoot in the .3’s at 50 yards with JSB’s 18.1 grainers.
The carbine tho shrouded is not mouse fart quiet, but I am told you can add to the shourd to make it that way. Only complaint I have is it is not as powerful as I would like.
Having said that, I have one tree that is 108 yards from my deck and I have gotten three hits on Starlings, using a Hawk 6×24 Sidewinder with the SR12 reticle and Hawke BRC ballistic program.

Yes, it is a beauty! And probably a good choice for me…
Now I need to find someone with a 25 Daystate Air Ranger or a 25 FX Royale 500 I can try out. My other buddy, Stan, is looking to get into PCP and I think either of these could be the right one for him.
