Hammer Slap Mod on a Talon SS
Looking through old posts and found a short post back in August of 2008 about using leather to quiet the hammer. Not sure what to do with the hammer, could use some help. I just removed the hammer, it is stock, and now do I place a leather shim on one side or both sides of the hammer face?

Loosen your rings and turn your scope around. It will correct that tiny sight picture that so many here complain about.

take hoots advice…he once tried correcting this by turning the whole gun around, and now has only 1 nut… 😯

Thanks for the reply. Just talked to a fellow in south Texas and he shared his thoughts, leave the hammer alone or buy a after market hammer/o ring combo from members here. Will think on this as I want to do some other mod’s first.
I’d guess one side would be enough. Adding too much thickness to that area may interfere with cocking
The more popular (and complicated) hammer slap mod is an o’ring inserted into a lathe cut groove on the hammer or breeches face. You can buy them aftermarket if you don’t have access to a lathe.
