Going .25 with my Stubby Hi-Flo!!!
Just got off the phone with Randy at R&L after placing my order for a 12″ .25 caliber barrel and the long shroud and a couple of tins of JSB Kings to start things out with.
My current setup is in .22 with the short shroud. Great size for close quarters but I was concerned about how much louder the .25 would be.
Right now I’m pushing JSB 18.1 at 930fps for 34.75 fpe. Power wheel is set at 2-10. What can I expect out of the .25? I’m hoping for a really quiet 50 fpe. Maybe more?

oh, can you give me a little bit of info bout your powerplant? standard hi flo and heavy hammer can do it, but youll probably wanna tweak a little to maximize efficiency and flatten your curve a little, lets not forget that 50fpe is an impressive feat for a 12 inch barrel
youre gonna wanna go a little heavier, but i dont believe it will be a stretch.
I think I’m going to have a lot of room to play with. Currently the powerwheel is set to 2 – 10 and it’s running 18.1’s at almost 34+ fpe. Surely it’ll run 50 fpe in .25 if I turn it up, don’t y’all think?

Harry has a valid point, but I can easily push .25 Kodiaks over 1000fps with my stock Condor valve.
It may take a bit of fooling around with tophat/PW and possibly hammer weight, but your valve wont really need a lot of fiddling with IMO.

The .25 isn’t going to be any louder then the .22 But the Fps will go down for sure, probably by 125 fps if you don’t change your PW setting.
Your going to love it, but the noise will be a factor.
The loudest part of my rifle is when the pellet hits soft tissue.
You cant silence that.
With todays pellet choices you lose NOTHING accuracy or trajectory-wise.

RiffRaff, how long is your barrel on that condor? When I had a 24 in barrel, mine were coming out out slot hotter then with the 12 inch..something about a longer barre and more fps with the same settings as a short barrel.l
