I’ve got wood, what would you do?
I made this to replace the factory shit grip. I’m still deciding on the finish, what do you guys think, flat black duracoat to match the stock look or do I go with a dark stain so the nice laminate lines show through?

Its made out of gluing 3/4″ plywood together and some hand tools I recently inherited from my grandfather.

I would take some penetrating epoxy and let it soak in so it hardens that soft fir plywood. Then i’d sand down the raised grain, fill the grain and sand it again so the grain doesn’t telegraph through the paint and the wood it hard enough to resist getting dinged easily then coat it with bedliner.
believe it or not, if you put in a little time with scuff pads, the stock foregrip can be made aesthetically pleasing, and the plastic theyre made of is rather tough and solidly formed as well…

Bedliner for sure, then move on to a new foregrip. Nice work on the grip, looks good.
I would polish it vigorously…… Oh the grip, stain it.. you can always paint over it if you dont like how it turns out, you cant stain over paint…
