Planning to remodel the condor into one of these then get it tuned.
I’ve learned how to do CAD’s and operate a CNC mill at school and plan to get this under way soon after I measure up and do the CAD.
Thinking of having it at .25 then getting it tuned by Tony.
The mockup has it with a picatinny rail and a daniel defense like rail up front for attachments. The Design was inspired by the cheytac m200 with its carry handle and retractable butt stock/monopod assembly.
Thinking about doing it in solid aluminium then getting it sand blasted and anodised black.
Yes It will no longer be light to carry but its appearance will be tad intimidating.
Any advice guys?

OK, So would something like this be ideal, these are just rough sketches to throw around ideas. I’ll get to the actual CAD soon enough
x2 on the gap. if you leave it open, not only will flex become a MAJOR issue, so may breakage. riffs rail is ideal. retains strength and mounting area, and reduces the AF sight over bore by probably like an inch and a half… :thumb:
The original owner cut the rail off and sent me the frame as-is.
I machined the cuts flat and bonded the rail on, then tapped and screwed it just be be extra secure.
Its an old style SS frame, some irritating differences. Frame ID is too small to allow most of my bushings inside, I had to make new ones to fit a barrel in it.
Even with new trigger parts, I had to chamfer the end of the hammer at 45° (very lightly) to get the sear to engage. This caused the delrin on the hammer to split and break up so I made a bronze hammer out of bushing stock you can find at ACE.
Now the little gun is pretty sweet.
thanks for the advice, i’ll look into it. With the Talon SS in your sig, i noticed that the dovetail mount has been cut right off and replaced by a weaver rail. Been wanting to do that for ages, looks badass

I wouldn’t leave the gap above the bolt though. That area of the frame is the weak spot and you’re relying on the thin area above the trigger to keep things flex free.
Ive wished I could do my own frame. I would make a loading port on one side, and make it a side cocker.

more like it, but youll want to get one of the angle adapters that tony, baz, and others have been making, or youll never get your head around the tank…
you could get away with a high mount, but that will eliminate one practical benefit of this build, dropping the optics down in relation to the bore…
