Q:

50 yd. Groups with 22 cal. Talon

I posted this on the Yellow Forum but some of you guys might not have seen it.

All you guys that have been shooting for a long time like myself know that some days are better than others and that one group (good or bad) is really not a good test of you and your equipment.

Check out these two 50 yd. 5 shot groups I shot with my new 22 cal. 18″ Full Blown Talon from Talon Tunes. The group on the Shoot-N-C was after I had shot 15 shots on a 3050 psi fill at another target @ 25 yds. and decided to go to 50 yds. to see what I could do.

I still get tight groups out of my Talon even having gone from my 18″ to a 12″ LW barrel. It was tuned by Tony a few years ago but has only received TLC since then. If you’re not grouping well (subjective) you might run a few patches through the barrel and lube what needs lubin’. Or send it to Tony. 😀

My Talon SS doesn’t come anywhere near this with either my two. 177 or my one. 22 barrel. I’m a bit disappointed that I don’t get the accuracy that I read about in these forums. I expected great things from these guns with the LW barrels. I think I have a sticky hammer for one thing. Seems that AF should do a better job here.

This is very good grouping, I also like shooting the 15.9’s in my Talon SS, I also always hit the birds off the wires, at 40 plus yards, everytime.

Tony, PW 11 is written on the crony string you sent me. I have not turned a screw or nothing on this rifle sense I received it, just shot it. Thanks for all you help.

Sorry airgunsoftulsa, but I can not answer the Top Hat question. You will have to ask Tony @ Talon Tunes. This is one of his Full Blown 18″ Talons. It looks like the power wheel is on 12 and a half. Hope this helps.

I have found that they are very accurate too, they tend to prefer a differant fps than the 14 and 18 grain JSB pellets for peak accuracy.

I always go for the JSB Exact 15.9…good luck

Excellent groups! I’m not quite there. What top hat/power wheel settings are you using for the JSB’s?

Impressive groups! 😎

looking good ,

how many groups did you shoot to have these be the best, i know these are some accurate rifles , but it takes some work to get them right in the spot where they can be consistent and give the best groups

I love when they are in the tune and putting pellet on pellet

nice!

Nope,,,,, 15.9 gr. JSB’s.

Sorry about that, where just this post be.

I edited my response. I could have sworn this was in the SoftChrono General Discussion section but after I posted it appeared here.

Let me guess, you are shooting 18gr JSB?

Thanks. Tony is THE MAN!

Very nice.
