Any reason not too?
I have an SS with a 24″ barrel and ldc in .22. Can someone tell me why I shouldn’t get a 12″ barrel and comparable or better ldc and make the gun more compact. I know I’ll have to dial the power back with a shorter barrel, but I just squirrel hunt with a 50yd range. I prefer to get closer and can so why not?
I figure if I want power Power POWER I could get a Condor someday. Personally I can’t see a reason not too, but haven’t been in the AF game long enough to know. Maybe a compromise is in order with an 18″ barrel.

If you want tremendous power, get either a Tony Tuned valve, or an R & L Airguns “Extreme” valve screw in replacement. One is a Cadillac, the other is a Chevy, just depends on what you’ve got to spend.
However, if you have a standard TT tuned valve, I’d just get the .25 caliber barrel and see what it does for you. Under most practical shooting circumstances, it should shoot like a rocket. Don’t be misled by the fact that most of us on this forum are only satisfied with “Stupid Powerful”…that’s just the way we are. The AF line is fun because you can modify it to shoot birds or hogs.
The average shooter would be very satisfied with a Talon .25, just remember your shot count will drop somewhat because it’s pushing a bigger pellet. I find the accuracy and energy gained to be worth the air. Some would not.
At any rate, when the time comes to sell, the .25 will go fast and at a higher price than the .117 or .22 calibers.
Have fun. Don’t shoot off a nut in your excitement 😀
