Q:

Another remedial shots per fill question….

I’ve been watching some BSA videos and they always say on their PCP guns that you get more shots per fill with a .22 than with a .177 which makes no sense to me. Given that a .177 is smaller, shouldn’t it take less power to move it, there by giving the .177 more shorts per fill than a .22?

Easy way to understand the concept… though not scientifically accurate.

Blow a spit wad out of a straw…. see how far it goes.

Now blow a spit wad out of a coffee stirrer straw… see how much more air it takes.

maybe that refers to a given energy figure. itd likely take less air to get, say, 30 ftlbs out of a 14 grain .22 pellet than the same weight .177 pellet…just a guess.
