Q:

I am finally done with my Gun

I have been collecting pieces for the last couple of months and finally got to shoot it today 😀

It is a TSS Frame with a 12 in .25 LW Barrel w/ vented front bushing
Maddog Ultima Short Stock
Subssonic Shroud and Bolt handle
Dyotat 95gr Hammer o-ring mod to reduce hammer noise
Dyotat Modified Hi-Flo Valve and custom fill adapter and Bipod Mount
Harris S-BRM 6-9 Bipod with T-Nuts Bipod Lock
Wok Trigger Shoe
Bushnell Legend 5-15×40 Mil-Dot

I will provide some numbers when I get a chance. My preliminary Test shots over the Chrono put me in the 885 fps range, keep in mind that was in the garage and when I finally made it outside to shoot, there was not enough light to get a reading. But she definitely Hammers!!!!

Nice gun man, can you give weight and oal? Thanks

I weighed it today and it weighs in at 9.2 lbs with the Harris S-BRM bipod attached.

Over All Length from from front of the Shroud to Back of Bottle is 39 1/4 inches

Starting fill pressure is 3k with a peak of 920fps +/-

Had a Tasco on there for 18+ years without a problem. I sent it to John Thomas in PA last year and he worked his magic. He really smoothed it out. It has aVortek kot, Maccari buttons and a Maccari muzzle break. He also reworked the trigger group, it is light and crisp. It shoots CP’s @ 875fps

I added the Legend when I had it tuned so it has not been on there for as long as the other scope I had, but so far so good. Since I got my AF’s I don’t shoot it very much anymore and right now it is scopeless

😳

Nice build and shooting the 25 gr. JSB’s through a 12″ barrel is doing a great run at 878 average… May have missed it but what is your fill pressure at?

Now the main focus with my post here, I had a RWS 48 many years ago and while a great rifle and all, it was scope killer if not the right type of scope… That Legend Bushy takes the pounding from the 48 or have you worked your 48 over quite a bit to calm the beast from killing the glass so bad???

Hi Harry: That’s a beauty! I am curious to hear how the balance and weight is…and how do you like that Bushnell scope?

Congratulations on a wonderful job.

Thanks Greg, I love that Bushnell Legend. I had it on my RWS 48, and borrowed it it while i decide on which to buy first a Night Vision Scope or a Hawke Sidewinder 30 8×32-56

I love the balance of the gun, as far as the weight goes I will throw it a on a scale one of these days and let you know.

That is a good looking gun harry!

I was able to shoot it today and run some shot strings These are a few groups at 33 Yards, It was 39 degrees and windy, I think I can do better if I wasn’t freezing my ass off. I was using JSB Kings 25.4gr

I ran 2 20 shot strings through the Chrono both averaged 878 fps

Harry is like me… Done until next week 😎

Good lookin! We want to see what she can do!

Very nice. Those Maddog stocks are Da Bomb. Everyone that tries mine out want’s one.

Tell more about your hammer mod. How does it reduce the noise.

Paul

The only thing I may change out is the scope, That is on loan from my RWs 48, besides that there isn’t any other pieces to upgrade. just shoot shoot shoot

Going to go back and fix some flaws on my 1st TSS
