The combination of heat and blowing it off worked perfectly. Thanks guys!

using air to get it back on works great as well. Shoot it in the back and push it down. If it does not go all the way down shoot air under the edge and it will move the rest of the way down

Airforce uses compressed air to get the cover off the tank and alcohol to get it to slide back on.

Don’t forget if you use a heat-gun, to relieve some pressure from the tank first.

Wouldn’t want to heat that air inside too much if the tank is full.

If you notice it starts to slip at all pop it off again and then use a light coat of hairspray as a lube to put it on. When the hairspray dries it acts as an adhesive. Another old bicycle/motorcycle grips trick.

i used a heat gun , got it good and warm, then worked my finger in around the edge and worked around the cover spraying watered down dish soap in under the cover while pulling down as well as working around the bottle ,until it slide off,

putting it back on, heat cover real good, heat gun, hair dryer, you could put in oven for this ,( watching very closely)!!!!! , spray bottle with watered down dish soap, slide cover back on.

Thanks guys! I’ll try the airhose route.

Yep,

Stick an airhose in back and it will shoot off like a rocket.

If you do not have access to air compressor then use a hair dryer to soften the sleeve and then shimmy if off bit by bit.

If you have an air compressor you can use air to get the cover off kind of like the way you get bicycle grips off the handlebars.

Heat from a hair dryer works as well I think.

No need to cut them off, trust me, I know because I cut one off and I didnlt have to… 😡

Maybe on the end of the air can you can make some line cuts with a utility knife, heat the foam with a hair dryer if it is glued (don’t know if it is), attach the disk and then glue the foam back down. Or just cut the foam off the bottom as you don’t need there anyhow.

I think you re supposed to leave the foam on the tank, maybe just remove a little on the end.
They don’t look so pretty when you rip it off the whole tank. 😕
