P-Rod impression after months
Having owned a p-rod for a few months now, here is my opinion of this gun for those who might be interested.
Mine is set up as a carbine w/added cheek rest, Jim Gaska shroud, .109 transfer port, shimmed stock and added a PPG power spring.
It came from the factory at about 12 fpe. I thought it was very quiet.
When I upped the power, I then added the Gaska shroud to compensate for higher pressures. The shroud worked good and I still have a quiet gun.
It is putting out 18-20 fpe with about 20-25 good shots.
It will shoot one ragged hole 5 shot groups at 20 yards. Accuracy test at 50 yards yields 3/4″ to 1 1 1/4″, with 1″ being average.
Three quarter inch groups are hard to get. Partly because the gun is light in weight and i`m using a 2-7 variable.
At 18-20 fpe, it has acceptable power to take small game out to 50 yards.
I have busted a sack full of squirrels and starlings with this little gun.
Favorite pellets in my gun are:
Beeman FTS/H&N FTT 14.6
Eun Jin 28.4
H&N 21.1
in that order.
In my collection, I have one pumper, a few springers, and a few PCPs.
The p-rod has become my hands down favorite
I have trouble laying it down.

I have pretty much the same experience and feelings about my P-rod.
I really like that it is light and smallish – even when set-up as a carbine.
SteveInLA gave me some tips that really helped. 1) super-glue a washer to the plastic stock between the rear contact of the plastic stock and the gun to eliminate the slight wobble (worked like a charm). 2) add the home-depot pipe inslating tube to the top of the stock to improve cheek weld. I did add a slightly longer hammer spring so I could shoot fills starting at 3000 psi, added Jim Gaska shroud extension. It is quiet enough that I’m thinking about adding a depinger because the ping is now the loudest noise I can hear.
I tried the Hammer Debounce Device from Airguns of Arizona, but the screw did not fit tight enough in the hammer and failed completely when I cocked it. I also bought the HDD for my M-rod, but I’m wondering if I should even try it after the fiasco trying one in my P-rod.
