My New USFT is Almost Here…
“Elvis” has left Gardena and should be delivered to my front door sometime on Friday… 😀
At least that is what UPS is saying. 
I think i’m going to call her “Big Red” since she is supposed to be red parts with a black air tube and it took her nearly five months to make it up this way. She will sit proudly besides “Ol Blue #27”.
Sure it took forever but I never once got cussed out or told I was ignorant. We’ll have to she how she shoots to find out the overall quality, but the rumor is the trigger is sweet.
It should come with a real field target harness so I can use my crappy one as a loaner and a valve tool so I can adjust my new and old rifles as needed, although my old USFT doesn’t need any messing with at all.
Time to start saving for a real scope, something like a Nikko Diamond or a Sightron SIII. Got to look though both recently and the Sightron SIII is a work of art, it’s also $1300. The Nikko is pretty sweet too but side by side you can see where the extra $400 is for sure. The illuminated reticle on the SIII is like a laser dot, nothing like any other illuminated reticle I have ever seen. The Sightron also have 1/4 moa clicks which makes adjusting elevation much easier compared to the 1/8 moa per click set ups.
Going to have to find out what pellets she likes and at what speeds, at least I have something that shoots well as a fall back in case I can’t get the new one sorted or if there are any problems.
Looks like i’ll have to make another set of custom add-ons like the ones on Ol Blue. Good thing FT doesn’t start up again until April next year, I gots lots to do to get ready for next season…

THATS what I been waiting to see… very nice. I’ve had the pleasure of shooting a USFT a couple times and they are just like an extension of the human body. One day I’ll own one. Very, very nice Syn!

LD designed an amazing rifle and Tim has made it available to anyone who wants one. I hope Tim continues to produce these rifles after the initial run of parts are assembled.

Things went pretty well today. Took both USFt’s, replaced the Gen I rail with the Gen II 20 moa rail on #27. It was gusty and the wind direction changed constantly, right to left and head on anywhere from 5-15mph. I still managed to shoot a bunch of pellets on top of each other at 25 yards and get some decent to excellent groups at 50 yards.
I actually think #158 is more accurate than #27…! 😯 😕 #27 has an 18″ barrel though so it has a slight disadvantage for the long range shots.
So i’m impressed and very satisfied with my latest purchase. Still need to do some tweaking on the trigger to get it more like #27, which is super light with no first stage travel to speak of. #158 does have a nice first stage but the second stage takes some effort. #27 has a pull real similar to my Jewell trigger on my PB, probably about 4 ounces, basically if you touch it, it fires. When I first got my pb with the Jewell it was twice as light and fired if you thought about it. It makes the AF trigger pull feel like tugging a tractor through mud. 😆
I’m interested to read about your USFT experience. What pellets do you currently shoot and at what velocity? I think it should put out 30fpe, but I don’t really know. Knowing the current velocity and the pellet weight i’d use a FPE calculator to see what your target velocity would be for 30fpe. I do think these rifles are capable of more than 22fpe, probably 25fpe without too many issues. Shit i’m pushing 17fpe with 177 caliber pellets…
I do know that 20fpe is a good blend of consistent shots with a relatively flat trajectory, with bench rest the idea is to be able to shoot a whole round without filling, (such as an 15.9 grain pellet at around so 750fps for 25 to 30 shots) so it seems that an 18.5 grain pellet at 900fps which is 33fpe, (i’m using JBS pellets for these numbers) should be possible for 20 shots. You would reduce your shot count per fill but if your not doing benchrest competition I don’t see why it would be an issue.
What are you planning on using the 30fpe set up for?

I got the FT version, 24″ 177 barrel, 24″ air tube, knee rest, gimbaled thigh rest, knee rest, no bench rest kit, unregulated, leupold qr rings.
Your going to need a valve tool and I think it’s as easy as turning the part under the hammer where it hits the firing pin to increase the power.
I think you got #56 if it was the package with three barrels and a whole crap load of extras, hpa bottles, hpa adapter… Looks like a Gen II variant as well, that is one smoking deal you got!!! 😯 I didn’t see a valve tool in there, it looks kind of like a long socket type of thing with a bell and one end that has two pins and a hex head at the other for turning it. I’m not sure you want to up the power too much, these things are usually set to perform at their best from Tim or the previous owner with a nice flat trajectory from about 25-40 yards…
Well i’m off to the range now that I chronied the new arrival. Looks like its shooting jsb exact heavies right around 870fps… 😀
