.22 Condor needs to grow up

It’s been a lot of fun playin around with the infinite variables, but some of you guys were right about the .22 vs, .25. Man, it’s hard to keep the bird down. If I wanted to keep the power shots in a 3/4-1 inch group, no problem, but the gun just seems to want a higher output. So, it’s gettin an overhaul to .25.

Besides, the accuracy of the .25 JSBs in the same 25.4 gr as .22 Monsters is too tempting. Since I’m apt to stop shaving, going to work and get re-obsessed with the tinkering and mods (happened w/ hotrod VWs), it’s best to get the gun out of my hands for awhile (besides, I shot nearly all of my .22 heavyweights); it’s going to Tony once the Christmas shipping insanity abates. (Don’t want UPS throwing the thing around in the madness.)

The plan is to install one of his 95 gram hammers along w/ the vented .25 barrel (which will still accept the same, .22 shroud) and swap the tank valve setup with one of those new, shiny, irresistible one piece steel top hat/valves. Then, let the Master do the tuning. That way, I’m less likely to lose my job but can justify the sore muscles and grunt work knowing the earnings are going somewhere I want them to go. The really hard part will be the necessary wait. If the stinkin’ squirrels start barking at me, a couple of other rifles are close by. Plus, I bought a 50 lb bag of hydroton fired clay balls for growing orchids and watercress; they look like fantastic slingshot ammo!
