Boy it’s a good thing that a certain dealer was banned from the Yellow.
Wouldn’t want him to be able to issue a recall notice for a potentially bad product (if it is in fact his item used under it’s specified uses) on the Justin Bieber of airgun forums. I guess it would be much easier to scream class action lawsuit and run under a falling sky like chicken littles with their heads chopped off…

Why do I feel once again that “Steve” would rather people get fucked over this than to actually allow a situation where things could be resolved in a quick and painless fashion. Is it jealousy, stupidity or something so inane it escapes me… 😕
The kernel of goodness that can be squeezed out of the whole scenario is a much needed reminder to be sure your using the proper equipment for the given air pressure in your gun, tank, pump, etc.. 😉

The day before Vogel made his post of his hose blow up, I noticed that the one of the two hoses that connect the three 44 cf bottles on my cascade system was leaking around the ferrel.
They were both rated at 6000 PSI, and are working at 4500 PSI, but still one seemed ready to fail. The Vogel incident prompted me to imediately contact Joe Brancato and get two new hoses.
Joe’s shipment to me and my payment crossed in the mail, he did that for safety sakes.
Irregardless where Bob vogel got his hoses, I will get mine from Joe from now on. I get fittings at Northshore compressor which is another reputable dealer, but they don’t carry hoses like we use in our sport.

The other odd thing is everyone was freaking out about the fittings. Well the fitting didn’t fail did it? The hose did.
So if someone sells a hose with rated fittings is it instantly a good assembly? Depends on the hose’s rating right?
It also depends on what the person selling it says it was rated to when they sold it. If someone selling it states it’s rated exactly at what it is rated for and that is ignored because someone wants to save some $$ and buys it because “it looks exactly the same as the more expensive one”. Who’s fault is that?
That’s a whole lot of if’s and but’s though, it’s far easier to just accuse the person you don’t like of foul play right? 😉

Thanks Harry. Nope, I don’t have one of those. I have bought hoses from Jim Shelden, Steve at Pomona AirGuns, and a short legnth that came from PA.
So, what hoses are we talikng about? Can anyone post a pic of the “bad” hose and its markings/ratings?

Yep, since “Steve” posted that it was a “So. California dealer” since he didn’t want to mention Mac1 and therefore a lot of people thought he was talking about Joe B.. 😕 🙄
I have my own misgivings about Joe B. (paid retail for a few items but had to trade in my old items? new parts came full of metal bits from the threading of a hole) as do others and I have them about Tim as well (wait time issues, the quality is beyond any other manufacturer on the planet). But both those guys sell top notch products so it’s hard to not do business with them.
I think what “Steve” is doing will ultimately hurt the airgun “community” and his own forum more than anything else. The worst part is he believes this petty bullshit is a service.
Im uneducated on Mr. Vogel hose failure, wAs it a serious incident? The warning post on the yeller got me a little concerned. I only have the benji pump, which is probably marginal, but im curently only pushing it to 150 bar. Why the fuck did ctsteve chime in and drop mac1 into this ordeal? It would make sense the censorship of mentioning ***_* would be broken to allege shady business practices. I havent dealt with either mac or queen of ct, but im sick of looking at the be leathered sunshade biker toy of steves
If you go to Pyramid Airguns website you can see the same style hoses there as well on the Crosman site.

Tim got rid of those hoses years ago. None of those hoses have been sold in years from Mac1.
A lot of stores sold those hoses without knowing they were not what the distributor claimed.

I have a Joe B. hose and connections and feel much better knowing they are only under pressure when I am filling my rifles.
I think keeping hoses under pressure constantly requires regular inspections and replacement even if (like RC mentioned) they are rated beyond their current use levels.
Excellent safety reminder for those keeping the hoses under pressure RC. 😉
