Cocking Knob
Finally made a cocking knob to replace the stock one. One piece stainless. Made a acetel collar instead of the steel one that came with it.

hey Dyotat100- id like to have a side cocker handle made, but its a bit different from the norm of just using a standard type knob on the side of the rifle. basically it would be solid round stock (not sure of size), and it would thread completely through one side of the breech, and a recess would be drilled into the other side of the breech. the round stock would then have a hole drilled into it for the barrel to pass through it, and finally a groove would be cut into the side of the frame so one could cock the rifle. would you be willing to try something like this? i have pictures somewhere, and i know its been done before. i like the knurling you’ve done, which made me think of this idea again. ill post the info ive gotten on it here soon. i got ahead of myself when i posted this 🙄
You should like that. I have made a couple for my side cocker and I am still not all warm and fuzzy with it just yet LOL…
I see you cut a lockout position for your breech, when in the cocked position… That is another must have on these rifles if you ask me…
I have noticed on the AF- Edge rifle, they have this on that rifle…
I have some stainless stock that I have wanted to see if I could make a breech from it. Totally have it where its on the barrel only, with O-Rings on the inside also. I don’t have anything touch the frame far as the hammer or breech. I know its going to be a little more weight, but its something I really want, instead of the aluminum one I have now…
Heck with the recent monster hammer springs I have messed around with, I have a few scars I put in the breech LOL…
I like the knurling you did on your new knob also. A nice addition to your rifle man…

here’s quote from an email ive got… “Not a whole bunch of specs to give Cab’ Its a stock breech with the cocking knob hole drilled out and retapped to a bigger size, then rotated to its side. New sear slot. Cocking knob made from delrin and screwed in all the way through(small well inside breech for knob to snug into. Then orings removed and then knob drilled through in place, to the dia’ of your barrel. Orings replaced.) Thats about it, as ‘simple’ as that! Then of course frame slot done on a mill. I went with a large knob(tee hee) as I had a blod spring in at the time, so it needed to be meaty. With a stock spring, you could go a fair bit smaller, and keep the frame stronger.
