Q:

Valve overview chart

Cause there are quite a few valves out there for the Airforce guns, I tought we could make a chart or a list with data about the different valves (like name of the manufacturer, chrony numbers for different calibers and bullet weights…..), for a better overview/buying decision.

…THIS SOUNDS LIKE A JOB FOR…BENNEEBOI!!!

=) Sounds like a job for the newbie who requested it =)

Shot the other sizes.

Custom condor type valve
43 gr 1109 fps
62 gr 982 fps
70 gr 948 fps
89 gr 882 fps

Was down a few fps. Valve wouldn’t open all the way until in the 2900’s. so I will step up the valve spring and do a 3200 psi fill and may break 160 fpe. It shot 886 before with 3000 fill.

Thanks for the info. Always good to know who the custom gear guys are. Slayer fan Huh… What was that album I use to rock back in the 90’s… Was it Seasons of the Abyss or something like that? Anyway, it got one motivated to say the least! I’m a huge music fan of all sorts minus a few. The audio gear used for the ultimate experience is my other hobby. Love a great 2 channel multi-amped rig!

doug makes some great stuff, CV, i have an aluminum breech slide that hands down kicks the originals ass(i had to switch from silicone to fluorocarbon grease, well worth it). he has a day job, however, so doesnt seem to have a ton of time to do this stuff. no harm in asking, though.

look in the mods/machinists section to see some of his handywork.

Can someone tell me about Doug’s custom valve and the benefits of it over a stock valve. I’m guessing power and maybe efficiency, but hey, I’m a noob to all this. Thanks guys.

He is working on yours next, Moneyshot, then I guess I am next.

so, doug,

you ready to build me one or what?
😉

got some green cheese with your name all over it… 😀

Condor valve custom ported and played with
43 gr 1055
62 gr 928
70 gr 914? Have to find my papers

I don’t waste a lot of time on the factory condor valve because it is to restricted. Might be able to get a tiny more but how long the stem will last is the question.

Blod valve custom ported
43 gr 1098 fps
62 gr 978 fps
70 gr 948 fps
89 gr 856 fps

I have to shoot the other sizes with this valve still. The newest version of this valve should break a 160 fpe. I’m going to finish it this weekend with a .308 setup. I will be able to go from .308 to .25 by changing out the front of the valve.

I’d be interested in this too.

Having some FPS/FPE shot strings with equivalent pellets would be priceless.

Sounds interesting to me, even if it is just about the valves themselves to limit variables.

I wasn’t looking for nothing specific, just wanted an general overview whats on the market.

That would be an enormous effort with all the variables.
What is your need and the experienced can suggest a fix ?
