Q:

Valve Caps and 4500psi Tank Caps

Would anybody be interested in a aluminum cap to protect your tophat? Would have a o ring and be anodized black. Also going to make some caps to protect the threads and keep the dust out of my 4500 psi fill tanks. That thread is odd ball and has to be done on the lathe. Anybody?

How’s this. Still trying to get the knuling consistant. It will be a while before I get enough aluminum things together for anodizing. Lot charge makes it so I have to bring enough pieces to make cost effective. I will make 10 for AF and 10 for SCBA to start. I need 4 SCBA for my tanks. I have to order a smaller internal thread insert tool so I can do those. They are back ordered right now.

Me likes what me sees. I prefer the less knurled look but will go for whichever. I’ve got rose petal hands but the grip of an anaconda. (no “funny” comments from the peanut gallery…)

PM me with your payment method info and I’m down for 2.

Thanks. Just things I make for myself and would like to see if anybody else needs them.

I have never seen anyone turn out so many useful parts as you – GREAT JOB – you deserve that lathe !

Here is what I was talking about. One on the left will be for SCBA tanks to protect the threads. What would be better, full knurling or just towards the top? New prices, SCBA is $25.00 shipped and AF is $20.00. Have to single point the threads on SCBA and takes a lot longer then running a tap in the hole. I have to get a smaller internal threading bar to do it. The black one I made a while ago and just cut the o ring in it today.

The ones from AF are steel and are $15.00 plus shipping. How about $20.00 shipped for one and $35.00 for 2. They will have a nice o ring so it snugs up. I will make a couple tomorrow and post pics.

Yep- would make separately storing the air cell less potentially damaging to the tophat. I’d go for one if it didn’t cost my other nut.
