FX Royale 500 groups with dead duck
Here are some .25 groups. Since it was subfreezing, tank pressure was variable, but started at about 219 bar and finished near 160, which later warmed up to 180 bar? Distance was 33 yds., hand-held, forearm resting on a stepladder. Light, variable wind, JSB Kings (25.39gr). All target circles inside diameter are barely under an inch. Five-shot groups.

I need to warm my hands now, after tweaking the scope a couple clicks. To relax (groups getting worse) I took a couple fun shots at a rubber duck. Problem was, it was so cold, it shattered, blew it’s head apart! Last group shows how important relaxing is and why a rubber duck may be a good “tool”.

So the total shot count was 32. Since I was in a bit of a hurry to haul in/split more firewood, this doesn’t show the Royale’s best potential. I’ll try to get some longer range targets posted when it’s less cold. I also wonder iif accuracy suffers while the gun/scope is rapidly going from 75 to 30 degrees. By the last group, the gun was probably stable-state.

Thanks. It felt good to blast that duck, after being tormented by a certain duck at the end of a pistol.
At some point, the Air Arms will get the same targets. So far, it’s even tighter, but .22 and seems to be limited to 20 shots.
If you want the best chrony spread and accuracy, adding the cost of a regulator (~$200) is not a bad deal. For most hunting, you don’t need it, but I’m impressed with the small fps spread I got out of it. The Daystate is a good gun by all reports. AOA data shows a more consistent chrony spread with the FX, with regulator. AOA was also using a heavier pellet in the ranger, so that may be affecting the curve. I have no clue if the FX shoots cudas well. Mine was adjusted for the JSB. They can be readjusted. Also haven’t messed with the pw settings.
The FX mag is a bit tight to load. Sometimes, the pellets need a LITTLE push to position them. A tiny stick or toothpick is handy. Most of the time, they fall right in (after the first,”locking” pellet). In any case, there’s no visible or significant deformation. Once loaded, the function of the mag has been flawless, so far. Man, I want to see what the FX will do with a sandbag and a proper rest!

There is a fix on the Yellow forum for the FX magazine to make it fuction like butter, doesn’t help the loading tho, just helps with not deforming pellets when you load them from the magazine.
WHich is why they sell single shot loading trays.
