Good info. That’s some power it’s putting out. 0.249″ is pretty big. I would imagine your fingers started hurting like with the 43gr Eun Jins.
my plans are to pick up a second barrel to experiment with, also. that way i can go back to pellets, if i decide it wasn’t worth the effort. i think that i will definitely be cutting the choke off.

Yes I do still have the choke, and altho I have cut a lead in it, it is a matter of cuatting off less than a half inch to get it back to shooting Kings if I give up on this.
I also have a 18 inch barrel on a Talondor that would be ideal for cutting off the choke and converting it to these bullets. The Talondor with the short barrel and a 2×7 Burris might be ideal for this condept, so I may find someone to do all that in the near future and do a barrel exchange.

you’ve been busy. glad to see it’s finally paying off. do you still have the choke on your barrel? i’ve been toying with the idea of swaging a flat nose, hollow base ” minie- type” bullet. right now, it’s just in the planning stages. too much shit going on around here that needs my undivided attention.

Some unsized slugs
It has a driving band on the base that is .040 wide a recessed shank that is .248 and .125 wide and a .11 full caliber band on the nose. The bullet is .44 inches long and weighs 57 grains when cast from 20-1.
They drop out at .257 from 20-1 and I size it down to .256 for my .2549 bore.
They will not enter a stock barrel and mine is wide at .2549 so I had to cut a lead in it that makes it bullet specific in that it precludes it from being used with conventional pellets.
I have tried several hammers and springs and valve stems, I have gotten up to 130 FPE with it but I only get 5 to 7 good shots in the 1010 -1040 FPS range at the level.
The bullet is very sensitive to velocity and tells you about it with vertical stringing, you can in fact call your shots by looking at the chrony screen prior to looking at the target. Velocity has to be within a 15-20 FPS range to get groups ike the ones shown.
At 130 FPE it is duplicating the best 32 HP 60 grain HP defensive load, but doing it with a LBT swc design in 25 which would give a better BC and sectional density.

Those are some good lookin slugs.
They don’t seem to have an enlarged skirt like the old Benjamin/Sheridain pellets. Are they parallel sided? Hard to tell from the pic.

LBT stands for ‘Lead Buller Technology’, Veral Smith is the owner, he makes a modified SWC without the cutting edge on the shoulder, he has designed an entire line of molds around this concept.
He made the mold for me on one of his airgun designs.

Yeah that should read 95 grams. The barrel is or was cut with a lead to help in chambering.
I cut off the lead and converted that 24 inch barrel back to a King shooter yesterday, then cut the choke off the 18 inch barrel and put a lead in it for the 57 grainers.
I started off testing it with the stock spring and 2800 PWSI fill. It is going a bit too slow I think for best accuracy with the 57 grainers, but putting the lead in the 18 incher and removing the choke sure made the 43 grain EJ’s shoot good.
It just made so much more sence to me to have the powerhouse in the little light Talondor.
