LD pistols
what is the deal with these things, and why are the selling for so much?????
from what I can tell a 2240 with mods is just as accurate and hard hitting as the ld’s if not more so on both accounts… so what am I missing about these things?

I saw one on the aa classified the other day… it was $150 tho
The LD has a great feel in the hand.
It is very consistent for a CO2 gun.
It is very accurate. As accurate as my rifles up to 50 yards.
It is a great feeling I can pick up the LD, put on the hangy tank and the next 200 shots will be exactly where they where the last time I put it away.
It really is not that expensive as a championship winning airpistol. The hangy tanks and adapters drive the price up. If you can find the Crosman MK1 at a gunshop or flea market for $35-50 bucks the cost to turn it into an LD is pretty good deal.
I sadly only have one of them now. I sold one to Crow to fund a belt grinder for knifemaking.
I have made many a nice 2240 pistol and while they can be made accurate, they are not as consistent but they are worth having as well. If you buy a custom 2240 it will run about the same as an LD depending on how much work you have done on it.
I like them both but the LD is better due to the consistency and is built like a tank

In my opinion There is plenty of hype regarding the LD
owned one of the earlier LDs with the HW barrel and Venom mod
yes, an incredibly accurate piece
very quiet
reasonably good trigger but Far from target grade if you lay it up against a Styer, Walther, FWB, ect
but with a 15″ barrel is it really a “pistol”
never did get used to the “Taco” hold
the upside is if you find a cheapo Mk1 and have it LD’d if you don’t like it you can sell it for likely more than your investment.
my only real gripe was the quality of the repaint on mine…had a noticable sag on the right side of the breech and a run on the front strap of the grip frame when I picked it up
was easy enough to correct with careful sanding and some Airbrush work though.
I could hit dimes at 50 with my 2 LD pistols I regretfully sold
I could hit quarters with my customized 2240s
The LD in my opinion is the BEST pistol out there and ya can bulk it or hpa it or just use co2 carts

Lots and lots of good reports from LD owners…
I’ve seen posts claiming other guns were better or could be but I can’t recall an LD owner saying it was less than he paid for or the service was bad…

yep wok has a cupel of them, and I know mac is the MaN! and the can run a “bulk” tank and so on.. but holly monkey …. I don’t think I’d have any problem what so ever putting my 22xx up against one and have it hold it’s own… and at what, a forth of the price tag?
