Just picked up a 12" .177 barrel and was wondering….
……if a standard tank and valve would keep heavies below the sound barrier? I’d like to run them in the low 900’s, maybe a little less.

Let me know how that works out. I’ve wondered about shot to shot consistency with the o-ring set up.
JUst thinking outloud, dont know why i need a 177, just think it would be cool to try out.
LIke a field target set up in 177 , lighter pellet moving faster less impact variation over 10 to 55 yards to deal with.
Sounds like you have a plan.
I think the oring behind the top hat will take care of that, i was tuneing 32 grain eujins , and with my modified valve and light spring i got tank dumps trying it without the oring, but with the oring i had no problems .

The 22 condor tank is not compatible with a 177 barrel. My understanding is you’ll get a tank dump with the 177 back pressure.
I want to get a 177 barrel for my 22 condor one of these days just to mess with, 24” most likely ,have seen several on sale used , havent jumped yet,
would be neat to have a compact 12” set up too.
Same setup and pellet and they stay 860-900.
I didn’t think so, but i did read something on the yellow(I think) that the talons that come in .177 have a different spring in them as well. I not know for sure if this is true or not, or if it is needed or not, but I’m sure someone that knows more about it than I will chime in
…if you’re talking standard as in high flowing than you will most likely get your self a good old hart pounding tank dump, the high flowers need a stiffer valve spring in them to keep from dumping 😉
Yeah, standard as in Talon. I’ve got a high flow tank on my stubby.
But that begs another question. Do I need to replace my valve spring in the stubby to run the Talon tank?
standard tank as in a talon tank?… if so you are all set to go, not to sure as to the numbers to expect…
