Royale FLush or Flush with Royales
The rifle and scope got here at 4:55 PM, and I had 45 minutes to put the scope on it and play with it some.
It is a very large rifle compared to the Royale 400.

I checked it as is on the chrony and got a reading for 3 shots in the 870 range, I wanted a bit more power so I turned the power adjuster up one half turn and found I was in the high 900’s, 985 to 995 to be exact, which was way further than I wanted.
Groups were in the 1/2 inch range in both settings, I had to go out to dinner, so I put the rifle to bed and waited for tomorrow.
This morning came in a deluge of rain, and I mean it is pouring rain. I tried a couple different adjustments on the rifle and fininally ended up with a setting that gave me 893 for an average, I fired 55 shots or 5 magazines thru it over the chrony which was setting in the pouring rain.

This is putting it at 45 FPE, I had it to 50 FPE but it is air hog, and the velocity spread is a little too eratic in the brief testing I have done.
Accuracy, well what can I say about accuracy, all but one of the 11 shot groups were one ragged hole and had one flyer, low right or left, I am certain it was the rain, it was raining probably harder than it ever has while I was shooting, the wind was whipping the rain sideways at times.
Normally I would not shoot in a rain like this. But it was a new Royale 500 so I had to, you know what I mean, how long are you going to let a new rifle set around just because of a little Typhoon? Even with the flyer the 11 shot groups were in the 1/2 to 3/4 inch range at 40 yards.
If it still does this in the bright sunlight I would be concerned.
I adjusted the trigger pretty light, it is a Royale trigger easy to adjust.
So far I am likeing the rifle, I have the same bitch as most do about it, it is big and long, probably would not be that big a deal if I had not been shooting a Royale 400 for the last two months.
The magazine feed smoothly, altho any pellet out of round will not load due to the precise fit of the kIngs in the Magazine, I suppose that is a plus, and it is the same strange Royale loading proceedure where you load one backwards, turn the magazine over and load the rest.
