Spring tension decreases with time?
Hi there,
Just a quickie:
It might be just because my rifle is brand new, but i had to give the spring a slight fraction of turn clockwise after 1500 shots as the power had decreased a little.
Found it out today when my POI dropped a mildot (i initially tought my scope had given up), but then found out after chronoing the rifle.
I suppose it is because the spring settles in after the initial thousand compressions.
….or am i supposed to give it a fraction of turn periodically to keep the power constant? Yes the small grub is in place and there is no way it could have moved.
Mind you, being mine below 12ft lbs the spring is almost entirely decompressed, so it is slighly more difficult to keep it at a fixed tension, as it is almost all the way turned out and not so “tightly” squeezed in, if you know what i mean.
Thanks for your expertise!!

Big thanks! 😉
Ps
I’m using a different chrono now, and it ia much more consistent…
I suspect it was te old chrono failure rather than Ed’s engineering!
