Q:

p-rod shroud question..

could some one let me know if the shroud threads, or the end caps for that matter are the same on the p-rods as their big brothers?

also… what do you owners of the p-rods think about the D/b levels, and do you have them hopped up, stock or turned down?

let me know if ya all can…

We need a ‘like’ button on this forum for posts like this!

I’m working on it… well waiting for a shroud tube to be sent to me then I’ll really be working on it that is… and yes they will be out of 1 inch stock, packed full of the good stuff and screw right into the stock p-rod shroud tube, and I won’t stop ’till a hopped up/maxed out p-rod is hammer and spring twinge quiet

I have modified three of these into carbines, and the OEM shroud is not as functional as it should be. A shroud extension helps, but I still wouldn’t call it “quiet”.

What it really needs is a 1″ tube and baffles that work. Then the Prod can get really really quiet. I had my last one down to hammer “ping” and pellet slap, and that was at near 750 fps with an 18.1 Jsb. I was using an aftermarket 4″ long modifier that screwed into the end of the Prod shroud.

With Gaska’s butt stock adapter, and a Tippman folding stock, it folds into a nice little package. It just needs a “can” on the end of it to quiet it down a bit more. And…venting the frame doesn’t hurt either.

A bit of Delrin tapered down to the Prod shroud’s OD, you could use a friction fit grub screw to hold it on, and put almost any effective moderator at the other end.

Just a thought.

I put a tko brake on mine, works really good. But im working on gettimg the stock shroud more effective. If i were only better at g-code i could turn out some cool shit

p/m coming your way slayer… 😉

I have mine tuned up a bit.
transfer port is larger and the adjustments are maxed out.
I was debating on a stronger spring but it hits pretty hard now.
I think it is still pretty quiet but too loud for my back yard (close houses)
A shroud would make it back yard friendly for me! 😀

11/16 x 24tpi for p-rod. its pretty quiet around 9-10flbs but it has some bark past that.
