Springfield XDm
I picked up a new Springfield XDm in .40SW on Friday.
Very much liking this one. Shoots very well, handles nice, great balance and easy to aim.
Got an unexpected first kill with it today on the Columbia River.

This is #5 from this same section of riverbank, one of the largest I’ve run into down there.
It was pissed off too, coiled up ready to strike and rattle buzzing in the headphones. Howard Leight electronic muffs, work really well.
First shot missed its head, and nearly cut it in half. 2nd shot, on the money.
Both shots from about 15′.

Upgraded the little pistol last night.
Installed the Powder River Ultimate Match trigger kit.
The kit requires a minor amount of fitting, all you need is a sanding block and some fine sandpaper to remove very small amounts of material.
I flitzed the surfaces to make them smooth after fitting, works great.
The trigger kit reduces initial take-up by a BUNCH, and the final stage is crisper and lighter. The kit also incorporates an overtravel feature that makes the gun much easier to NOT pull off target.
I didnt take pictures of the process, but there are vids showing how its done and what to expect.
If you ever aquire a Springfield XD or XDm, I highly recommend this mod. Relatively inexpensive and you can do it yourself quite easily.
Got mine here.
