Q:

Need some valve help/ advice for repair

I was filling my guns tonight for going to the cabin this weekend and dropped my TSS tank as I took it off the scuba tank. Doom on me. It bent the valve stem and started leaking, the top hat was slightly dinged but probably can be recrowned/radiused to work. The stem has an I.D. about .110 so don’t think it’s been drilled out. The valve was in need of an o ring mod already.

So what is the best route to repair this? I know TT makes the one piece stem and does the o-ring mod but I think the one piece stem he makes is hi-flow and don’t need more power than 750-820 fps (18.1 JSB) as it would overdrive the sound signature of the insert set up I made and length would increase with an external shroud.

Since I need a new valve stem and o-ring mod, is anybody here still doing that? Seems too piddly for TT. Should I just get a valve stem from factory and do the o-ring mod myself or is there still some guys here that do that kinda stuff?

Thanks Charlie

quote Dyotat100:

Order a new stem and the brass piece that screws in around it. The new brass piece now comes with larger o ring and it’s like $13.00.

x2…

Very cool. Thank you.
