TalonSS 12" barrel & .25 caliber FPS …………
I am told that the TalonSS with a 12″ barrel in .25 caliber cant produce more than 650 FPS with a 21 grain pellet . Is this true. Pyramyd Air advertises the FPS as 750 ?
Can some one please clarify this please.Thanks.

I was able to get just over 770 fps with the 20 gr FTTs with a 2900 psi fill and the PW set at 8 and accuracy was still good but the firing cycle just wasn’t as smooth at the higher settings. The FTTs shoot good but the JSB Kings shoot better (and more consistent). Most groups with the JSBs average one ragged hole smaller than a dime at 35 yards (sandbagged) and 3 shot groups at 50 yards from .5″ to 1.0″. I bought this gun about a year and a half ago in .22 but couldn’t get it to shoot consistently well. Called Airforce and ordered the .25 directly from them and I’m well pleased. Actually get more consistent shots per fill than I did on the .22. Good luck on the .25 SS.

I just received a reply from Air Force where they said “our test results produced 665FPS with a 25.4 grain pellet “
I’m a newbie on the forum. I have a stock Talon SS that I recently installed a 12 inch .25 barrel on. With the tank pumped to about 2600 psi and PW setting about 4 (on my particular gun) I get an average of 740 fps with H&N FTT (20.01 gr) and around 700 fps average with JSB Kings (25.4 gr).
I under stand I was just saying what I’m getting he was asking if it could get 750 in .25 I said yes I think it is possible because of the numbers I was pushing.
There is a huge difference between a 16gr pellet and a 25gr pellet. as well as .25 cal vs .22 It is difficult to get a .25 pellet to shoot over 1000 fps with a 12 inch barrel 😕 besides, they shoot best right around 900
I own two (2) Talon SS rifles, both with modified High flow valves, and .25 caliber 12 inch barrels, they both have 95gr hammers. My guns peak out around 940fps….don’t know if you can get one to shoot much hotter then that

I’ve just received my talon ss .22 and imediatelly changed the barrel for .25
Haven’t shot it yet, will only do that in may 20th. Then if that happens (low FPS) I’ll put a condor valve and hammer. Problem will be solved I believe.
you can always get a little more, but with a 12 inch bbl. the returns waste more and more air.
I don’t own a talon ss but i do have a Condor with a 12″ .22 barrel on it and with the power wheel on only 6 t break 1000 spa easy with a 16gn pellet so i say yes

I just bought a .25 TSS and this is music to my ears. I would rather have more shots than more power with my TSS. I have a TT modified condor for the brute force work when I need it.
