Q:

Obligatory Edgun Photo Thread-Show off the new ones

UPS delivered my R3 .25 Caliber Edgun today. Serial number 3254. It’s marked as made in Russia and has 5.5mm marked on it as the caliber. That worried me since I ordered and paid for a .25 Caliber. But all was good when that first JSB .25 slid right on into the breech. I can live with the mismarked breech.

Mounted the Hawke Tactical 30 6.5-20X on it and I’m good to go. When I placed my order I thought the Long model might be too long but doesn’t feel that way. Weight of the gun right out of the case was around 7.36 pouunds.

Getting a .25 caliber Edgun out of Russia is no easy feat.

Back a few years ago, when Ed starting getting orders for .22 caliber Matadors from our forum, he had to mark them .117 to get past Customs officials.

It appears going from .22 to .25 caliber probably entails the same difficulties today. Ed marks them whatever it takes to get them out to the customer.

The guy’s jumping through hoops to get his Edguns to various parts of the world. No easy task, and I admire his genius in getting past hurdles that would stop most men cold in their tracks.

There’s probably a very interesting story behind how he ships his rifles to the U.S. Perhaps one day he will tell us what magic he used to get his wares across so many borders, and through so many rules and regulations. If we knew the truth, we would be less likely to piss and moan about how long it takes to get our hands on one.

LTLurker,

I guess this shipment came from Russia with 44 Edgun (base on Ed message)

Very nice. Looks like the difference between one made in Estonia and one made in Russia. I expected to get one from Estonia, I’m not sure now the delivery of shipments arrived into the States. Guess evryone will know when they get their EDguns.

Oke mine is a short 5.5 but is very different

Are you sure yours is not an knockoff 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀

The fit and finish is superb as has been mentioned in more than a few posts but I never had the opportunity to see it until now. It was a long wait, but worth it.

Rifle looks great, really liking the look of the walnut and the new buttplate on the current batch of rifles.

My .25 long is due to arrive Tuesday… already have the scope & rings on standby and will be taking the afternoon off from work to greet the brown truck. Hoping the stock on my rifle looks as nice as yours! 😀

Congrads LTLurker. It looks great. I ordered R3 .25 4 months ago right at the same day of receiving my R3 .22 . Fortunately, I have .22 to play with while waiting. I am 120% certain you will enjoy it and also start thinking of optimizing it to the max potential.
Regards,
Endo

Nice wood!!!

I never get tired of looking at these rifles. 😆

Every 25 I have seen has been marked 5.5mm, must be a export/import thing. 😉
