I spent around $838.80 just to obtain these groups!
Hah! I spent around $838.80 worth of pellets just to practice shooting my TX200 to get groups pictured in the photos below. So, that’s 60 tins of 500-count .22 pellets, each costing $13.98 a tin. But here’s proof that practice is all it takes to get quite accurate. My TX is not tuned or modified in any way. It is completely stock. All it took was, well, money, dedication, and alot of time getting to know my rifle.
Bear in mind the groups below were achieved with the rifle fired unbenched. Each group is a 10-shot group. My shooting position was a seated, field-target style position with my hand that is holding the forestock of the rifle resting on my knee. My back was leaning against a wall for support and stability. The distance the groups were achieved was 30 yards. Happy shooting everyone!

I get you don’t want the crosshairs moving sideways when shooting. I understand what holding the crosshairs steady on the target means, but I don’t understand what having the crosshairs move directly toward you, or straight back means. 😕 😕 😕 😕
Nate, what I meant when I said to make sure that the crosshairs move directly towards you is this: when you are squeezing the trigger the crosshairs should appear still and on the target. If you’ve taken the time to observe the pre-shot cycle, pulling the trigger makes the rifle move towards you (depending on your trigger technique) by a small amount. So, when at this phase before the shot breaks, and granted that there shouldn’t be any lateral movement, the only directional movement you should allow is this. Remember, when the shot breaks, the gun is going to amplify any movement – it is going to exacerbate the recoil by going in the direction you were meaning for it to go before the shot broke. You only want the gun to recoil straight back, and if there is any movement to allow during the recoil — because you have to allow the gun to recoil freely, especially in a springer — it is straight back only.
Also, make sure that the target’s distance you’re shooting at is focused to eliminate any parallax. I take it you know this already. However, let me just add a few things. Even when the target is in sharp focus and when you’re going to take a shot, always apply a consistent cheek weld or head position when viewing through the scope. One good way of setting up to a consistent view through the scope is to plant your cheek and line of sight in a way that enables the vertical strand of the crosshairs to align with the center part of your gun’s barrel-reference point or even the barrel itself. DON’T BE FOOLED! SOME SCOPES MAY ADJUST TO THE DISTANCE CLEARLY BUT SOME PARALLAX ERROR STILL EXISTS! To circumvent this, you lay the gun down and manually check for target movement against the crosshairs, which really takes alot of time (and not the best option when focusing on game when hunting). Another effective option and less time-consuming is using a laser dot (if you’ve got one mounted on the rifle) to check if it is steady at target-distance when moving your head around. Or, you can do what I do to complete the target acquisition process much more quickly which is what I mentioned in the beginning — seeing that the vertical crosshair is centered with the centerline of the barrel (this is what keeps my cheek weld consistent). 😉
With the application of the techniques above in addition to proper marksmanship principles, at my best, this is what I have managed to achieve with my Air Arms S410 at 30 yards. My TX200’s second mainspring broke a week ago from too much shooting and the third one will be ordered soon. 😆 :

My scuba tank is actually expired…over a year now or so. So i always have to drive down MDA just to fill up. That’s why I resorted to shooting my TX. I’ll give you a text when I’m free. I’m gonna be quite tied up with preparations and obligations before the move, but I will find time to shoot with you.

Here in belgium we pay today around 1,35€/liter DIESEL, that’s 5,103€ per Gallon or 6,56$ / gallon.
For Gasoline it even higher.. like 7$
Over here, gas is $4.89 a gallon! 👿 I’m moving to Phoenix AZ at the end of June though. Hopefully, gas prices are lower there.
for reals, spinj. that’s even regular.premium is worse like $5+ . At this rate i might as well gas up with race gas 🙄
Haha, race gas. The darn oil price increases are infuriating me. When the price of oil goes up, everything else does! 👿
BTW Wicked, the mainspring broke on my TX200 from too much shooting it 😆 . It’s the second time the mainspring gave out. I enjoy shooting that gun more so than my S410 as it demands shooting discipline to get it to shoot accurately. I guess I’m going to just order a couple more when I’m in Phoenix from Pyramydair as I don’t have too much time to order it from here. Man, it’s fun shooting that gun.
