Finished bullseye prod
I’m finally done with my “bullseye” prod. Polished the bolt, hammer, trigger, and the part of the tube where the hammer slides. Cocking is incredibly smooth now. I didn’t like the stock finish so I did a brushed aluminum finished instead. Accuracy was decent so I tried to improve it. I rubbed some metal polish on a few pellets and shot it through to make the barrel smoother. Accuracy did improve but what I really noticed was that I had to clean the barrel far less often before the groups opened up. Here are some pictures. The group was shot at 15 yards offhand. Plenty accurate besides that one shot I pulled.

It’s no secret. I used oven cleaner to remove to anodizing from the breech and shroud then went over with 800 grit The air tube was a bit sensitive but easier so I just went over it with 800 grit sandpaper. After that, I used a clear coat made for rims, since it sticks to metal better, to protect it.
Look at the first picture closely!
Up close, it seems he may have used a rat tail file, or perhaps a mill bastard!
It may be a secret…or possibly 000 steel wool.

Do you cover or coat it with anything to keep it from turning dark?

I wanted to ask this, but thought I would sound like a idiot and everybody knows this.
How does one get a “Brushed Aluminum” finish?
Is it as simple as sandpaper/steel wool pads?
Do you cover or coat it with anything to keep it from turning dark?
