Regulator

I’ve been working on a regulator to fit universal in the most airguns, like bsa/AA/Hatsan etc.

It is placed inside the pressure tube, so i had to find the best compromise between size and accuracy.
Below the picture of the prototype what has been tested for the last few weeks

We tested it with a bsa lonestar in .177 on several pressure settings. (This is done with a small piece of pressure tube, so not a complete shotstring) it’s only to check the regulating behavior. Graph is in m/s
(it’s in dutch, but i think you get the point)

Yesterday i build one in a bsa scorpion. The owner wanted a setting about 25 ft/lbs and we hoped to get 30 shots. It turned out to get about 35 very constant shots.

Quite happy with it 😀

And now a working regulator of 16 mm diameter who works in a closed bottle.
Yes i know Altaros, did just made an order for the new type.
And give it (again) a try.

When you extend the pressure tube, you can only use silencer smaller or equal then 28 mm. Of course this is not a problem, but most used silencers like the HW or the Decimeater are larger in diameter.

On the old types of BSA and also Hatsan who has only a few mm between barrel en tube you couln’t use silencer at all anymore if you extend the tube.

That’s the reason why i put the reg in the tube.
Of course it’s posible to make a reg specialy for one type of rifle, but i just made a design what will fit all to reduce the production costs.
Now they are around $ 80,-

I do not wery sure, but Scorpion and Multyshot almost the same?
Look at this:

This is BSA Multishot with reservoir extender. And with silencer.

I have them too, but, with bsa scorpion etc. you cannot fit a normal HW silencer anymore when you extend the tube with a regulator, so that’s the reason to put it inside the tube.

Better make a regulator without hole drilling, something like this:

This regulator screws between tube of reservoir and back part.
And it “breath” through the screwing – You do not need drill a hole.
This one is for BSA Scorpion.

And this one – is for FX (Solo, Typhoon etc)

Every regulator needs a reference pressure (atmospheric pressure) inside the regchamber for reliable functioning.
So, you are right there has to be a very tiny venting hole in the tube.

If you only use 0-rings to close the regchamber, and no venthole, there will be a bit pressure in the chamber after some time, because the 0-rings will never close for 100% they will sweat a bit. Then the reg will become inaccurate and needs to be depressurized.

So this reg can be used in almost any airrifle 😀 BUT unfortunately this reg is not suitable for the airforce tanks 😕

do you make hole to the air tube?
because its very good but if you make a hole it can’t use it in the airforce
