Edgun Fill source
When i get my edgun this fall, i was wondering if it would be safe to fill the gun with the Hill Mk3 Hand pump i just recieved. I would use a hpa tank but i would have to purchase a shoe box compressor to get a 4500psi fill because there are no scuba shops around. so i was just wondering if it would hurt the gun to fill it with this hand pump?

The only thing that can rust in a Matador’s air tube is the regulator’s stacked belvedere washers and maybe, the air valve rod. I don’t think that you would have a problem.

If you have a SCBA and not a SCUBA tank, check out your local fire houses. I have 2 locally and they are happy to fill my 2 SCBA tanks. A buddy of mine uses a SCUBA tank and gets his filled at the fire house also.
I keep telling him to buy a SCBA tank. The cheap bastard won’t do it and when he runs out of air he mooches mine!

have you mistyped this bud your scuba should only give dry air and if you feed the air in extremly slow so the air cylinder doesnt get warm at all there should be no wet air at all, … :)]

I shoot much (about 300-500 a week) so pumping would be suicide..
I`m sure tank air is drier but after pumping my 3 pcp`s and having
them apart have seen no rust.The air tubes are aluminum in the
Matador.Some moisture found when rebuilding hand pump but no rust
after 2yrs.Personal prefrence I guess but I have no qualms about
using pump. 🙂
It’s not bad, but not good either.
When you fill with a scuba tank, you always have 99% dry air. With a pump, you will have 80% dry air. The drypacks can’t prevent everything.
After a while it could be that your cilinder will get rusty..

I’m currently using an FX pump to fill my R3 long gun. I think the tank holds 388 cc. I just make sure to bleed the pump every 30-40 pumps to get rid of any moisture in the pump and not introduce any in the gun.
I’m thinking of getting a CF tank though. I looking at a 40 cubic foot model since I don’t shoot on daily basis. I probably shoot about a tin / month, but that may go up since I got my gun. I begs to be shot.
Back to the pump. I think I’ve only shot about 50 pellets so far. I didn’t get to shoot it much this weekend. Just enough to sight it in and plink. I’ll post how many strokes it take to get her filled up from 100 bar or so, to 200 bar.

Brandon,Won`t hurt a bit unless your out of shape 😆 I have a tank
but mostly pump fill.One thing I do is fill inside keeping gun and pump
the same temp eliminates moisture.
