Those wonderful Royales
I took my two Royales out shooting yesterday a 22 and a 500 shortend to 400 specs.
I shot this group with the 400 at 50 yards. That is outside measurements, so you have to subtract .25, and this is par for the course with this rifle.
Since I shortened the 500 and rebottled it to 400 specs, I have been emailing AOA weekly waiting for the Elite regulators to come in. AOA claims that they can report the rifle to get the velocity I want, 900 FPS and set the reg for that velocity;
Right now I get between 55 and 60 shot starting at 900 FPS with Kings, before the group falls out of a 3/4 inch group at 50 yards, so with the Elite regulator it should extend the shot string and give it a better uniformity.
Inside 100 yards, they are some of the deadlist rifles I have used and owned, and I have owned far more than my share of deadly rifles.

Thanks RC. Found it. Looks simple enough to get out. Reckon the trick is the adjustment process; no way to know what you got until you get the metal parts reassembled, air pressure in, etc. Shoot over the chrony. Then, if it’s not right…. :banghead:
I bet somewhere, there’s a rough guide to how many turns/partial turns equals what kind of shift in fps. Having AOA install and adjust it probably helps keep one’s hair from committing suicide and saves a lot of time. Time better spent with our wives 😎
Thanks, Bog . . . they are sweet rifles. Mine accounted for a big Rockchuck at 70-yards today; put the JSB King right thru the mellon as I intended. These things are scary-accurate.

In the Elite/Royale section, 6th thread down, ‘Regulated or no’ , 6th post on that thread by Mastoras, video is by Johnny Ottoman.
In a nutshell, You need a 14 MM and a 20 MM end wrench and needle nose plairs to remove the Elite/Royale regulator, note this is the reg without the sidewheel.
Unload gun,
remove stock,
remove bottle,
remove screw in male foster fitting,
remove air intake housing the foster fitting was in, this exposes the inside of the airtube and that is where the regulator is.
the Elite/Royale regulator can be lifted out with needle nose pliars.
Now I call this the Elite regulator because it does not have the sidewheel where the new Royales come with a sidewheel.
The regulator I am having AOA install for me is the Elite reg, my rifle gets there on Tuesday, the parts are still in customs.

Koja, your gun looks exactly like mine, except the lefty part. Synthetic is light and has some real advantages, but I generally choose walnut and keep it oiled to be as water and sweat resistant as possible.
The feel of wood is a personal preference. Here, the sun can be brutal while the humidity is just below rain. Picking up a black, synthetic gun with sweaty hands, sometimes with sunblock running down, a 90-103 degrees … dunno. Main disadvantage is that thin spot in the stock; gotta watch smacking it, more so w/ wood. Either way, the guns are fantastic.

I love the regulator in my 500. 75+ consistent shots & it has more accuracy potential than I have ability. Sweet trigger & buttery-smooth action. I actually wanted the synthetic stock, but it’s not available in the southpaw version, so I reckon I’ll tolerate stylish looks over durable furniture.

The Royale twins are some shootin’ guns! Nice.
FX seems to do really good with their valving. Unlike other airgun manufacturers. My old but reliable Logun Solo is a pretty efficient gun with its short airtube.

Yes it surprised me to because the chrony results would not have had me thinking I could group that manyshots together, velocity does fall fast with that little bottle at 900 FPS, but I ran the shooting test twice to make sure.
On the FX owners forum, under the Royale and Elite section, there is a video on how to get to the regulator on the Elite, and it is dirt simple to get to.

With that kind of grouping, the shot placements must be deadly alright! And I’m guessing you’re still not sorting pellets?
The regulator is bound to be a good idea, but it’s surprising you’re getting the shot count you have currently, with the smaller bottle.
If you have the time and interest, it would be great to see some pics showing how you get into the gun to install the regulator and how it gets adjusted. Having never taken the guns apart, some guides would be really helpful and I’m sure other FX owners would be interested. It’d make a good sticky.
