Talon… Stick a Fork in it…
OK… so I think I now have all my AF guns squared away….
Latest to earn the fork is my Talon.
I had originally wanted to do this on an 18 inch barrel in .22. I have a restrictive valve spring retainer from Tony on it and was getting around 600fps or so in .177 with an 18 inch pipe. I decided to drill out the retainer just a RCH to try to get 12fpe out of it.
Success… after drilling out, it’s chronying at 11.6fpe on the dot… I havent done a proper string, but I shot from 3000psi down to 2350psi and it started out at around 791fps with JSB 8.44 and I shot it 100 times…. counted out 100 pellets and just burned them up…. chronied it again… 801, 804, 801.. good…
Had been lusting after a WOK Guard on it and so finally ordered one from Adam. The mod is an old, old Rich in Mich model, before he started doing lots of them. It’s made for a .22 so it’s not ultra quiet, but does take the crack out a bit.
I used some spare parts from a couple WOK butts to end up with the arrangement shown. I need to talk with Adam about a silver butt… just the butt piece on it to finish out the gun. (Adam, shoot me a PM if you see this)
Accuracy is good with the JSB’s and I’ve not tried anything else so far.
Action isnt as smooth as I’d like so will be looking to pick up an after market hammer of stock weight….

I like the subtle two-tone look.
I think a silver cocking knob to go with the silver butt plate would look sweet!!
