Q:

Break in the weather so I took the 25 LBt out to 180 yards

It has been raining cats and dogs here lately, bad that I can’t shoot long range, good that it calms my damn allergies. Anyway about 3 PM it cleared up for about 3 hours and I went for it.

I set up my Ford bench rest at 180 lasered yards from my 3×4 metal target and set up. The white bull can be seen just above the grapes. I sprayed small white paint marks to shoot at in addition to the bull.

I was using the 25 LBT rifle with weight segregated 56 grain cast bullets. I set the top hat out a little more and was shooting at 950 FPS/112 FPE.

The best group of the day was 4 inches at 180 yards, 4 of those shots were in 3 inches. Looks like 1/2 minute of ground squirrel or crow to me. With a 80 yard zero, I can get pretty close to 200 yards with the Hollands reticle.

Then as quickley as it had cleared the clouds and rain moved back in.

I know it is nice of me to do this and break up the Edgun shipping controversy before WOK has to do whatever to Riversides shaft and then Riverside has to crawl under his bridge. It’s a dark and lonely job being a peacekeeper here on the vineyard but someone has to do it. 😛

I’ve looked at all these outstanding post on this other guns thread, all way to the Nitro Piston, and I just can’t get enought of it. 😀 Some of the best shots I’ve seen yet, this thread is really an informative thread.. As I said you all build them and I’ll shoot em LOLOL 😀 But as I said again the guns will out shoot me. 😮

Moneyshot,

My rear bushing is a custom one thatTagdagger made. I was for using his fire control system in a rifle instead of a Airarcher.

It replaces the rear bushing and acts like a spring guide for the heavy spring. You do not use the PW and it allows for that heavy spring to compress fully.

Look at the pictures of my rifle in this thread and you can see it in the PW window.

I think I read where the UK rifles do not have a PW, lord knows they can’t be trusted with such shit by their government :P, and they use a washer stack to adjust their springs.

Hope this helps you,

RC

charlie,

what do you have filling the old PW gap?

does the spring go all the way back to the bushing like mine?

ive been tryin to figure a way to fill the gap since i dropped the current powerplant in (the hammer is crazy long)

We have had a lot of rain around here as usual. Several people have fallen off their bicycles and drowned this winter and spring. 😆

BTW did you see this 25 LBT group at 280 yards? It is only three shots, I tactfully quit shooting once I saw the three shots, you do learn somethng with old age.

The group below it was 4 inches.

RC

Your a marksman for sure . Marvin

Jerry,

I did try a finely crafted german engineered bench with a nifty air hydrolic leveling feature, an Audi Allroad, but the 500 bucks a month for maintainence damn near broke me. 😆

RC

That’s really great shooting RC. I wonder what you could do with a proper bench? 😀
