Q:

First Chrono session with new Condor

Put a little informal time on my chronograph the other day and just wanted to throw these numbers out for a little feedback…

Condor .25, 24″ barrel using Beeman Kodiak 35.02gr. pellets, Fill pressure of 3000psi. Power wheel set at #4

First shot clocked at 832fps and the next 14 pellets climbed a small degree in velocity. I was using my Iphone’s note pad feature to record velocities and for some reason I lost my data for the first fifteen shots. I started a new log for the next fifteen shots and here are the numbers.

#15 – 925fps
#16- 939fps
#17 – 941fps
#18 – 947fps
#19 – 951fps
#20 – 956fps
#21 – 956fps
#22 – 973fps
#23 – 998fps
#24 – 1007fps
#25 – 993fps
#26 – 1004fps
#27 – 1007fps
#28 – 1017fps
#29 – 1011fps
#30 – 1012fps

I need to do more shooting to see how long we can keep producing these velocities. Had to move on to other activities and couldn’t devote the time to more shooting.
I’m very surprised to see these numbers at power wheel setting #4.
My highest velocity was 1017fps which translates to 71.35 Ft.lbs
This is a stock rifle with no mods made at this point. Is this typical of the kind of power folks here are experiencing?

Power wise I think I’m happy at least for the time being. I’ve never fired an airgun this powerful. I LIKE IT!!!!!

After more testing I may want to try to get a tighter power curve but for now I’m very , very pleased.

I’m thinking that with a little experimentation one should be able to compensate for the power curve using the power wheel to add strike force to the first dozen or so shots and the dail down as the tank pressure balances out for optimal valve timing. Does this make sense???

Condor equals power that is for sure!

Thanks RiffRaff I’ll look into WOK’s products again. I really like that rear grip.

Airgunner, thanks very much!

Hardwayman. While you cannot get a grip adapter just like mine, WOK makes a close 2nd that is functionally identical.
The front grip is available on the net, cant remember where I bought it. I affixed a short section of rail to the bottom of the frame and slid it on.

Hardwayman…

Sent you a PM…check your messages 😀

I had a neighbor do a slow drive by the other day. No doubt curious as to what all the racket was about. 😀

Next time just fan your ass and say “More beans Mr. Taggart”? 😛

😆 😆 😆 😆 😆 !!!!!

Hey RiffRaff, what’s it take to put a grip / grip frame like yours on my rifle? That’s really sweet.

arent kodiaks 31.02?

Oops sorry. Yes 31.02 gr. Typo. At least I remembered the correct weight in my energy calculations. 😳

Thanks for the feedback. I think I’m gonna’ enjoy this rifle allot.

Can’t shoot her anymore until Tony sends my shroud though. I had a neighbor do a slow drive by the other day. No doubt curious as to what all the racket was about. 😀

Your top-hat adjustment would help for a tighter string, then the powerwheel, and like said already find that special tank fill for the longest tight string.

arent kodiaks 31.02?

the power wheel function isnt as repeatable as we would all like. your not likely to accurately reproduce the exact spring tension time after time.

if your accuracy is doing well, i would play with fill pressure a bit and decide how much of a velocity spread you can deal with.

ps- that is a very consistent and powerful string for a stock gun.
