First Chrono session with new Condor
Put a little informal time on my chronograph the other day and just wanted to throw these numbers out for a little feedback…
Condor .25, 24″ barrel using Beeman Kodiak 35.02gr. pellets, Fill pressure of 3000psi. Power wheel set at #4
First shot clocked at 832fps and the next 14 pellets climbed a small degree in velocity. I was using my Iphone’s note pad feature to record velocities and for some reason I lost my data for the first fifteen shots. I started a new log for the next fifteen shots and here are the numbers.
#15 – 925fps
#16- 939fps
#17 – 941fps
#18 – 947fps
#19 – 951fps
#20 – 956fps
#21 – 956fps
#22 – 973fps
#23 – 998fps
#24 – 1007fps
#25 – 993fps
#26 – 1004fps
#27 – 1007fps
#28 – 1017fps
#29 – 1011fps
#30 – 1012fps
I need to do more shooting to see how long we can keep producing these velocities. Had to move on to other activities and couldn’t devote the time to more shooting.
I’m very surprised to see these numbers at power wheel setting #4.
My highest velocity was 1017fps which translates to 71.35 Ft.lbs
This is a stock rifle with no mods made at this point. Is this typical of the kind of power folks here are experiencing?
Power wise I think I’m happy at least for the time being. I’ve never fired an airgun this powerful. I LIKE IT!!!!!
After more testing I may want to try to get a tighter power curve but for now I’m very , very pleased.
I’m thinking that with a little experimentation one should be able to compensate for the power curve using the power wheel to add strike force to the first dozen or so shots and the dail down as the tank pressure balances out for optimal valve timing. Does this make sense???
