Q:

.308 extreme hunter

Testing our .308 Extreme Hunter and here are some chronograph numbers…We used Mr. Hollowpoint bullets…
150gr. with a 300bar fill 1st shot 980 fps, 2nd shot 960 fps, 3rd shot 888 fps with excellent grouping at 50 yds.

111 gr hollowpoint same fill 1100fps…At 50 yds the bullet hits before you hear the boom 😆

OK MAW, what did you do to your Corsair? 3 shots at 880 fps with a 3600 psi fill shooting a 150 grain bullet seems like a stretch in a STOCK Corsair. 1st shot MAYBE but 3 shots in a row at 880FPS i’ve never heard nor SEEN before. The gun has no return spring so it dumps air per shot.

Just asking cause i wanna do the same to my Corsair 😀

I got my Corsair shooting 3 shots at 880, 3600psi fill, 150 grn. I just can’t beat that so I guess acceptance is in order!

Nice power Allen. My buddy’s Beaumont was tuned to make that same power and i was amazed. He was using a LW 308, 1-16 twist barrel and RCBS cowboy 150 gr FP’s. But he said the accuracy was at the 840+ fps range in that particular setup. At that power, he shot some damned good 100 yard groups. The majority were well under an inch at 100.

That kinda power and speed is deadly in a 308 and should make a GREAT long range thumper

I went for a rounded average of all three RC… 😉

How about tuning to 3 shots @ ~900 +/- 15? Add a shroud so that the noise is reasonable, and keep the weight under 10lbs and maintain accuracy out to 100yards and that’s just about my dream big bore.

150 at 980 FPS is 320.

RC

That’s ONLY 300fpe…

😆

In all seriousness, that’s quite some power for an airgun!!!

WOW! 😯

Allen,

I shoot long range air guns using cast bullets, I have a Ranger 45 and two AF rifles that I call 25 LBT, that I daily shoot 150 yards to 280 yards.

And I am impressed!

Sounds great, keep us posted.
