Q:

Basic Edgun newbie questions…

The was a thread here, can’t find now about fill pressure.

Whats the optimum fill pressure, 200 bar, or something less?
I think Ed even commented on this and prefered less, but can’t find.

There was some mention of an optional silencer..ok LDC for the Edguns..
Anyone have any more info on this?

The Edgun is not loud, but…silence is golden

Anyone else shooting .22 JSB 15.9’s, seems there is a shortage of the 18.1’s as well as the .25cal 25.4’s?

15.9’s or 18.1’s, which is best?

GOod to hear!! Mine like them hot too so 🙂
There will be some very good groups come here :))

Today was a Edgun shooting day..

Shot at 885fps,895,905,915,925,935,945,955,965,975…
Sorry Kazz, at 50 yards, at 100+ I could not hit the broad side of a barn. At 50, its good enough for a starting point, longer ranges next time.

Every single time 20 shots, Refill gun to 200bar with Shoebox, take off stock, adjust HST.

20 shots, first 10 with JSB 15.9 5.53’s, 2nd 10 with 15.2’s.

What I learned,

My gun like it hot, shoots best between 945-975, 965 the best.

In every case, my barrel preferes the 5.52 size pellets.
From now on 5.52 size is for me.

My 22long came to me shooting 18s(pellet of choice) at 942 average. The 16s were averaging 997 over chrony. I’ve got over 7000 shots on mine now and reg adjusted to shoot 18s at 905,(16s at 955)and Im pretty happy with SD, ES and accuracy. Plus I’m getting 105 shots before it drops off reg.

(But, I shoot those 16rs at 937fps but then when I push in 18rs they come out at 900fps, so strange yours is so low with 18rs?)

Have not shot them, Chairgun info…

Thanks Kazz, Congrats on your fine shooting

Always start at 880 fps and go up by 10 or 5 fps, 10 shot groups
look when they group the best, but don’t do it at 50 yards, but take the gun to 109 yards if possible.
Every good PCP shoot 1 “slightly bigger then a pellet” hole at 50 yards..

So start with the 16 grainers at 880 and go up until 950 or so.. Look where they group the best.
Do the same with 18 grainers and compare!

But, I shoot those 16rs at 937fps but then when I push in 18rs they come out at 900fps, so strange yours is so low with 18rs?

Ok, Well right now, outta the box, is shooting 15.9’s at 970-980 fps.

I suspect this is too hot. But, Chairgun says it would shoot 18.1’s right around 910 fps…which is about perfect according to our hero Ted in Madison.

I have no problems going with 15.9’s forever…as long as they are accurate.

Gimme a starting point…recommended fps for the 15.9 ers?

I use a Shoebox and a 4500 PSI Guppy Tank. It ‘s the way to go, it’s just the initial cash outlay has a kick to it.

If one fills to 220bar from a standard scuba tank, that would mean just ONE fill from the scuba.

Do you guys use shoebox instead?

hey man Kazz is kicking ass with 15.9’s

like i was saying , tune the gun to the velocity the pellet wants. 🙂

In this video ED recommends 220 bars:

You may fill more, but it is not economical when it comes to air efficiency… 😉

Another silencer is not going to help you much I’m afraid……

Cheers 😀

You should try Edgun pellet that Mr Ed mention made specific for his beauty.I order from Mr Tony and they work out excellent.

Ed overfills to 210 then lets the tube cool as I recall reading. Not sure about the LDC.

All the JSB pellets have been hard to get from Pyramyd. My 25.4 .25 cal pellets took over a month to go off backorder and the same back in March for my 18.1 and 15.9’s. Plan on order 45 days before you run out and buy more than you think you need.
