What kind of bullets does/doesn’t work in a airgun and why ?

Do a search, this has been discussed several times.

Airguns don’t generate enough power to push copper clad bullets through the barrel. Copper washed bullets/pellets which are not copper clad, work ok in airguns.

There are no sabot bullets available that work good in air rifles, they typically don’t generate enough muzzle velocity to separate the sabot from the bullet.

There was a custom condor built to shoot 30cal sabot bullet, therefore it is not typical and required extensive $$$$ custom mods to accomplish. A custom 30 cal barrel and extensively modified hi flo air valve.

At what cost would you consider to be practical to achieve? I really want to accomplish this with a .22 cal sabot carrying a .17cal bullet. But a could not find the sabot, none made that I could find, you could try again.

My post wound up suggested using .17cal paper patch bullet in .22 cal air rifle barrel. I sold my condor before attempting paper patch projectiles.
