Q:

FX Royale with Ti Tube and new custom stock. Finally done!!!

So I finally transformed the rifle to my liking and it handles very well.
It took me a while to make the stock and I put a lot of time into it. Pretty much made it by hand with tools and used only drill press for inletting.
One thing for sure, I got no idea how people do this for living if you do it just by hand. It took so much time and effort for me just to make this one stock. I would never do it. My hat is off to those guys who custom make them.
Anyway, it started out as a blank of walnut as you can see in the pictures. I liked the grain and that is why picked it. Nothing fancy really but still looks good to me. The stock didn’t turn out totally perfect but it is the best I have ever made.
The most time went for sanding, finishing and then checkering. I felt it was taking forever to checker it. And finally last night it was done!!!
I am happy!!!
I hope you’ll enjoy the pictures.

That Boss is 58″? My .257 condor with 33″ barrel is only 48″ and will be 54″-55″ with shroud.

The air tube was made by Blobnob. Wouldn’t be hard to make one for the Boss. Just need to figure out what OD you can go with and how long. 3750 psi is easy with Ti.

HMMMMM!

I will have to give you a call this weekend Doug!

X3!

I REALLY want to know the specs on the air tube! If I can buy one that fills to 3750 psi and holds 500ccs, I want one!!!!!!!!!! NOW!!!!!!!!! 😆

I tried to get an air tube when I built my Royale 400 bull pup and couldn’t find anybody to make one. I made the Royale bull pup with the stock bottle and it worked and shot at least as well as the stock setup. I never did the final sanding and finishing on the stock: my R2.5 25 cal long version Matador came in!

I just got a FX Boss and the Royale’s bull pup stock needed a little work to allow clearance for the Boss’s 70 mm longer bottle. After the adjustments, the action and bottle fit right into the stock. It looks pretty good.

My bull pup stock turned a 58” long Boss into a 35” long bull pup (Teddgun?) but; the gun is still front heavy. That bottle weighs a ton! A 500 cc air tube that fills to 3750 psi pressure would make for a better balanced gun plus, it would look a lot better in a new bull pup stock made for it.

Tonaka, I could never make a stock like the one that you did! I cheated on mine. I used ½”and ¼” thick poplar sheets to make mine. I didn’t have to do any inletting, I just cut the 2 center ½” boards to fit the action and bottle and sanded the rest of the sheets to fit and then glued them all together.

Please give us some specs on the air tube and where we can get one!

Inquiring minds want to know! 😆

VERY NICE!

Who made the air tube, how long is it, what is the OD, how many ccs, does he make longer air tubes than the one you have and most important: what pressure is it tested to and what can you fill it to?

If the maker has a website, please post it here or PM me with the maker’s email if you have one.

x2!!! Please do share! Been kickin around the idea to get an FX Elite…

These were the exact words that came to my mind when I made a custom stock.
It took me a month or so, I really don’t think mine is worth posting

So my salute to those custom stock makers…

Any your works is truly splendid.

The day I completed my stock, I said to myself, I am never gonna try that again.

Leave that to the masters….

I hope I’m not necro posting- tonaka: who made your Ti tube? how many cc’s?

That is a work of art. Very impressive.
Well done.

BY HAND !!! , wow that alot of whittleing . nice job on it , everything looks great .

Racy Lines…Me likes! 😉
