New TT shroud ….
Got a new TT shroud for the condor . Will venting the front bushing and the frame quieten it further ?

The only info I can find is replacing the existing tube with 1/4th” OD poly tubing. I’ll have to MM that out to see if it is bigger than the existing TP tube. The existing TP tube wall is paper thin and not enlargeable.
I believe the breech/barrel TP holes would have to be drilled over-sized, then then Jim Gaska could mill up some TP tubes for it to try out. Those with a mill can DIY.
The great unknown is whether there is anything to be gained, vs buying a new breech and barrel if it doesn’t work????

Hoot, could you send me a picture of the transfer port and it’s connection to the tube and bbl (Action)? I have an Idea if if am picturing it right.

HOOT, wouldn’t it be easier and just as effective to drill the bushing, like Tony does on the frame, rather than trying to slot the bushing? i think it would be more effective and easier to adjust the amount of airflow, for optimum effect. start out with a small hole(s) and enlarge them until you reach the optimum size. just a thought.

By using the baffles it becomes possible to enlarge the rear vent holes. All this lowers the air pressure at the front of the shroud.
I used brass baffles with slots cut into them with a dremel wheel. A crude, but effective means, to slow rear air flow.
With a 15″ barrel in. 25 caliber, I never expected this result. With pellets, I shot all afternoon and my neighbor never heard a shot. It’s not hammer slap quiet, but a good step in the right direction!
I’ve put in the 10lb spring and need to get readjusted for power and shot string.
One question I have is how do you enlarge the transfer port in the Mrod? It’s easy with the Prod because there is plenty of TP wall to cut away, but the TP wall in the. 25 is paper thin… How is this enlarged?
It’s coming along fine. Weight is half what it was, length is good.
I’m going to get a bullpup stock on this bad boy if it’s the last thing I do!

Examine the rear of the Edgun shrouds. He has several very small vent holes at the back of his Matadors.
This is a known way to reduce gas pressure within the shroud, thereby reducing the pressure the baffles have to contend with as the air exists the muzzle end of the shroud.
I have used it several times to good effect on the Marauder series of rifles and pistols. The Prod benefited quite well.

There are tiny holes just forward of the rear bushing. No idea how big they are.
There is also a threaded 10/32 hole in the middle of them, has a grub screw in it. I have no idea what the original purpose of that screw was but I think it was a picatinny mount point.
The gun arrived to me looking like an AR15 knockoff. Fake magazine on a small rail, Russian Kobra sight on a picatinny rail, palm swell grip, morgan adjustable pad.
The cost of those accessories nearly made the gun a free extra cuz I got the gun pretty cheap.
Looked great, but I wanted a scope and didn’t like the fake magazine so it clutters up my workbench. The Kobra now resides on my 10″ bull-barrel MkII and yea, it rocks.
If you vent the frame, start with 1 small hole and go from there. If you overdo it, you can plug them back up.
Riff did you use a 1/16” drill bit?
My Condor has been vented since I bought it, and it is quieter than the talon frame (unvented) with the same moderator installed but not dramatically quieter.

Yeah, that is what I was thinking. Milling a little bit bigger seat, and hole for the tube. In both the tube and bbl. That is why I was wondering if the seat for the air transfer tube looked anything like I had pictured in my mind.
I do have a mill, who’s wiring I just fried! 👿
