Q:

Rabbits Matadorized

It rains a bit here in UK but rabbits are still out.
Fatal mistake when a matador is around.
Headshots/chestshots, same outcome.

Hi Moonbear
I consider the matador a tool, as such i use it!
Would be nice to keep it oiled inside the gun cabinet, but to me it would be just useless there!
Matador belongs to the field, if i wanted a gun to stare at and stroke with a wipe i would have chosen some “pretty gun” out there, not the case!
However, I took all the precautions, it’s mint, actually after i treated the stock with the relevant care product, it looks even better than new!
Same said for the metal parts.
Btw you had yours dipped in what to make it “waterproof”?
Cheers

hi bud you need to watch that tape when it gets wet it holds water against your gun it will bring rust on faster if your not careful another reason i had my matador fully dipped to keep rain away in all the bad weather.. 🙂

They were about 40yds away from my muzzle, easy shot although windy.
Yes, in nt heavily hunted areas rabbits are so numerous you splat them with your car when driving at night….

Near perfect climate where I am but the nearest rabbit infested grounds are a few thousand miles away 🙁

BTW, is it true that rabbits in the UK outnumber humans?

From the rifle or the skillet???

How do you fellows prepare them back in the Motherland?

When I was a boy, here in the Colonies, we lived on rabbit meat…mostly fried in lard in an iron skillet. I know it’s bad for your health, but it tasted as good as fried chicken if you got a young one.

The medium and older rabbits we would stew, or chop into tiny bits and make a BBQ sandwich mix out of them. You could chew on some of those old rabbits for an hour and not get anywhere. Chopped up, a couple of token chews and down it goes! Yummy!
