Q:

Drop in baffle for talon SS 12"

I have just purchased my first AF rifle. So far I and very happy with performance and accuracy. My next upgrade it to find a baffle that just drops in without having to extend the length of gun with a shroud. Any suggestions? My SS is .22 all stock so far.

I wasn’t able to find the original post, but did find someone in another thread.

One looked like Subsonic’s Gen2, but metal. The other just spacers and concave filled spacers.

So questions.

What is the exact measurement of the inside of the talon shroud?
How close to the barrel do they need to be?

Going to try and print some variations.

How do you keep them below the barrel?

Given the new 3D printer technology, you could print something like this. Have the design on one of the sites that lets you order stuff printed, and the design maker gets money each time the site prints one.

His design can raise money for him, and he doesn’t have to do any construction.

Take a look at Mrnewbie’s post dated Aug. 20 in the quick reference section under the Sticky “Quieting your Talon SS.”. Lots of pics of shroud internals. It’s a great post, and worth looking at if you’re thinking of a diy shroud.  :thumb: :thumb:

It’s not that difficult. 1″ springs with body washers and “O” rings works well. You should vent your front barrel bushing. That helps alot. Good luck!

Thanks for the info. I will try and build one and post pics if succesful.

Trying the home brew internal shroud baffle recipes is hlaf the fun! I am sure the drop-ins are cool, but try searching the forum for some DiY solutions… You might be surprised. Ace Hardware has all you need!

I have sent him a pm but have not gotten a repy yet. I still am considering aputting an 18″ barrle on the SS so if I do then I will need a shroud. I have been reading a lot of posts on here and i am wanting this to be my yote popper. I just hope I can get the FPS and the energy out of it to do so. I will probably need to go to the hi output valve and heavier hammer as well.

I’ve been trying to get ahold of Subssonic for a week or so with no luck. I know he’s a good guy and makes a great product so I’ll just keep trying.

If you can be patient, member “subssonic” makes a drop in insert that works great. Cut my TalonSS db rating in half! I say be patient as he has had to recently set aside production to focus on more important things. He has announced that he will soon be up and running again.

Use the search function and search for author “subssonic” to see his posts. You can also go to this posting of his products and then make contact with him from there:
