Is there anything different about the Airforce co2 adapter..
assembly besides the ability to connect to a paintball tank? The valve looks like a high flow, but I was wondering if anything is different internally?? I ask because I want to know what to expect if I fill my 3000psi 48ci tank with air instead of co2. I called AF and was told it is a condor valve, but I would like to hear if anyone ever opened one up…thanks.

Its just a chunk of steel, take the valve off and there is just a hole thru it, thick and heavy,it can handle the pressure
Thanks for the info on the reg. I knew it was regulated but wasn’t sure on how much. In that case I would simply use air in that tank as it is readily available for me.
I may be getting a used micrometer tank instead or I may just abandon the (extreme shot count {which was my original intention of this build} and set it up as a regular talon…

A 3000 psi paintball tank, has a built in reg set to around 800psi. So it will shoot about the same as a standard co2..also in the 800 or so psi range.
I’m under the impression the CO2 adapter is a high flow, but it does have some minor differences…but it will work just fine on a paintball tank. I even upped the reg pressure of one of mine to 2000 psi. But its still not as good as a regular tank. Besides to damn big and clunky for any field play, but fine for backyard/basement shooting.

Are you using it on a talon or condor? If I go that way I will need to figure out ideal hammer weight. Also, what fill pressure do you use relative to your hammer weight? I filled it to 2000 psi with a stock hammer (no added condor weight) and I hit around 650 fps with 11gr Beeman .177. I didn’t run any strings, just trying to get an optimum starting point. I picked up a co2 adapter from walmart that allows you to hook up the 88gram carts to the AF adapter but the POS is leaking and I need to get another one. Thanks.

I use that type of connection and I fill my 3000psi 48ci tank with air.There are not any problems with the CO2 adapter. It works great. So don’t worry, it will work.

Good point. It is a heavy sobitchin chunk of steel and why did AF make it so thick and heavy for mere co2 pressures 😡
Lately I’ve been stripping anything unnecessary off of my rifles/carbines. It’s not like we need any weight to absorb “heavy recoil”. I may sell the af adapter and bottle if anyone has any interest. Otherwise I may just go with a 12oz tank….
