If you are thinking about the glow sights that AirForce sells, forget about it. They suffer from marketeers disease where they think that people want the glow sights.

Now if you are willing to invest a considerable chunk of money in open sights, buy the peep sight set AirForce sells for these air rifles, make an adapter to install an adjustable iris on the front globe and install an adjustable rear aperature on the rear sight block and you will have a set of “open” sights that will allow you to perform very precise shooting at longer ranges.

The cost of such is considerable and it will require you to have very good eyesight as was pointed out before. For that investment, you can purchase a very nice scope.

I used open sights for the most part. Never had a problem. I say if your eye sight is good, then use what you want. Having said that, open sights can’t compare to optics when it gets to shooting flys or shooting at long ranges.

When I think of open sights I think “center mass” only! Not precision air gunning….

Open sights tend to be only used for paper punching at close range these days. The edge is said to be good at 10m

They suck.

We do not even waste time talking about them.

Seriously. 😉
