BAFFLE THOUGHTS ???’S
I’m going to up the shroud size of my Marauder .25. 1″ OD, .93″ ID, with a wall of .035″. could a K baffle be made for this size shroud, and thoughts on how effective it would be? Length isn’t too much of a concern, I’ll make it as long as I need to. I’m only using a 22″ barrel. There’s going to be an air stripper at the muzzle w/a longer lip for that first baffle to sit on. the stripper design I’m hoping to go with should vent air to the rest of the shroud effectively, and there will be one or two vented barrel spacers as well. what material would be effective, cheap, and light weight to use for the K baffles? I’m thinking 6061 for the air stripper, and Delrin for the barrel spacers. Thoughts? I’m trying to make a 40 fpe rifle mouse fart, but i’m trying to keep it as factory looking-ish as possible.

well… to me, in the link I posted, those baffles on the left side in the pic look like deeper, M baffles. the 4th pic down in fishin_rod’s post just look shallower. Meh…main question stands! “I wonder if that air stripper design plus M baffles would do well to quiet the report”…
Those look like a version of a K baffles. 4th pic down are the M baffles in his link.
Ah, yes- I have seen these. Didn’t know they were called M Baffles. So the one’s on the left in this pic are M baffles?

the air stripper is inside the shroud, it would be tuned (distance from muzzle to cone adjusted) before enclosing it in the shroud. How hard are the M baffles to make? Thanks for the assist fishin_rod!! I’m trying to make this rifle QUIET!!
M baffles are used in powder burners also.
The 4th pic down is a M baffle. the fifth pic down is a k baffle.

this was just pics from a quick search.
M baffles…could you send me a link for these M baffles? or describe them a bit? I know powder burner silencers, I’m still learning about airgun silencers.

I guess I should give a little more detail. I have made several type of baffles and inserts for air guns. The K baffle is very effective for a rim fire, but not for airguns. The M baffle works the best for air rifles.
do not waste time with k baffles, make m baffles.

I never used an airstriper like that, but I can tell you with 5 M baffles, My .25 condor can not be made any more quiet. The pellet and spring is a lot louder than the report.
I have never tried to hide how I make my shrouds, if you have the ability to do it, you should make your own.
